I can find nothing that describes how notes are entered into Susan's notebook - are they entered automatically or do I have to do something to make a note of something I think is 'noteworthy'?

Betty Lou, the stuff gets added to the notebook automatically--there should be a notification about this in the information line (at the top of the inventory bar) when it happens...

I have looked at the photo of the statue, put the photo and anthropology books together and translated the scratchings on the base of the statue, looked at the notebook and Susan has commented it has been translated. Walkthrough says to return to the 'entrance hall' - does this mean the ground floor of the newspaper building? I have looked all over that big green painting and find no buttons or drawer - have also checked out the green painting in Colin's office, same result.....kinda stuck here, where do I look for the 'magic' painting?

Return to the Lobby of the news bldg. Check out that BIG GREEN painting carefully. Maybe you need to right click instead of left or viseverse. You should get a closeup then.

What's funny is that I'm playing this too RIGHT NOW. I came here seeking a hint & found this. Glad I could help you, but I'm stuck too! lol

Yes, Betty Lou, it's the big green painting on the ground floor--where you fixed the elevators. There is a button somewhere, but for the life of me I can't remember exactly where it is! Try the upper right of the painting, or along the bottom. If those don't work, then you'll have to go for the dreaded "pixel-hunt"... frown

I have right clicked on every pixel of that big green painting in the lobby and all I get is Susan saying "For the time being, I have had enough".....whatever that means.
I cannot get a zoom-in closeup of it at all.
Any ideas?

wave Betty
The spot on the big painting is in the right lower corner. There are no indications of it until you hit it.
If you can't get it to open then you may have skipped going somewhere or doing something. Take another look at the WT.

I may have discovered what the problem is....when I used the photo on the books and then zoomed in on my notebook the riddle was already solved, but I did not use my laptop at all, so am going to go back upstairs and use the notebook on it and see if the next sequence gets 'triggered' or not....will post results here later.

Hi Betty Lou,

To tell the truth I don't remember it well; also, I only have a quick look at the scripting (I am messy, so every time I have to review my script, I have lots of trouble), but...

according to my notes and if I still remember enough, you can a "zoom" view of the green painting (in the lobby) after you talk with Colin about the "painting" (better try all the lines, though)...

It turns out my problem was that I somehow missed a whole conversation with Colin after putting notes in my notebook about the scribblings, and before I went looking for the PAINTING - and this conversation was necessary to 'trigger' the painting sequence - have redone this part and am happily on my way - game froze up on me when I tried to leave the newspaper office after talking to the policeman about Colin's alleged kidnapping, so am going to have to replay some to get to this part again and continue on.
Thanks for the help, needed that 'poke' to my brain to get it working right again.

OK. I have done all in Colins private room, gone up to Admin floor found more cigarettes, examined access panel and gone back to street level and left the building - how do I 'trigger' Day 2? I am standing out here on the sidewalk watching the buses go by (hear them?) and keep talking to myself (as Susan) but I am not getting anywhere.....when I access the map it seems I do not have an apartment anywhere to go to so I can go to sleep, take a shower, eat a meal or change clothes - HELP! please....what did I miss doing?

Betty Lou, when you examined the access panel, did you use nail polish on it, so you can tell which buttons people push...

Remember Betty to Right click on some things as well as left click. I went round and round trying to get to day two, and my problem was that I hadn't right clicked on a item in the newsroom.

I (Susan) went back up to 11th floor and discovered that I thought I had picked up a cig butt from the vase when in fact I had not....after doing so and checking my inventory to be sure it was there - everything else just fell into place, exited back to sidewalk and must have went home - Day 2 just starting and I like my spiffy, clean outfit, was getting kinda tired of that pink/purple ensemble and felt a bit on the smelly side, so must have taken a shower too, smell pretty again now. Thanks, have to remember to look at everything twice, and touch/pick up everything I can....
Anyone else have a problem with the game actions loading so slowly or seeming to get stuck/frozeup, that you could go eat a meal or take a nap waiting for it to catch up? This is very annoying - could it be that BUG that was talked about?

Betty Lou,
There shouldn't be any slowness as the game progresses (except maybe at Pete's home, because the code is heavier, but only noticeable in slower PCs)...
To be on the safe side, try it out without antivirus running and other stuff...
The game does play slow (on any machine) if in windowed mode, though...

Thanks ratracer. I don't exactly know what was going on with the game and my computer - it was sticking or 'freezing' every time I clicked on something to do an action then if I went away from it for a while it would suddenly unstick itself only to repeat the process the next action scene...when I finally received an error message ("fatal") hubby and I tried several things to 'fix' the problem, the usual stuff one checks when there is a problem like this, then decided to shut down and reboot. After doing this and starting the game up again the problem seems to have solved itself....game is playing fine no more 'sticking' - do not know what caused it in the first place.
And, I do try to remember to turn McAfee off every time I start to play any game like this - it is a pain in the you know where to leave it running, it thinks the game is a virus! Oh, well, I thank you for your attention here. I like your game very much....gotta go finish it in a bit.
Love, Betty Lou
P.S. Just who is JC in Tech? That is who the error message told me to contact.

I have come to the end of the game and am facing the 3 choices of endings, have gone through 1 & 2 and am at #3...do I understand correctly that there are different endings in #3 according to the numbers I enter into the Console and substituting a number from 0 to 9 where the X is?
also what is/are the second set of numbers for? The same thing, more alternate endings? using from 0 to 9 where the X is?
Or are all the #3 endings from 0 to 9 in place of "X" all the same result? Thanks
