What is this? I did a search when it appeared on CNN and it is supposed to be targeted advertising and not malware. I am concerned because of the way it is presented. The first one I saw had an outrageous statement about Ellen, hoping to make you click. One today displayed an announcement about a tragic event canceling Mike and Molly that it hoped you would click on. A while later an ad from LLBean that looked legit. I also had a small video showing some zoo animals that was running continuously but I was leery of clicking the stop camera icon. It finally stopped

This is supposed to come with something you downloaded, but the only thing I have downloaded lately is a Flash update. None of the other computers in the house have it.

What website are you at where you are seeing these AdChoices? Here at Gameboomers?

If you just went to the CNN website, it is just like virtually every other website out there. You have to suffer through ads in order to view free content. There is nothing that says you have to click on them. They are commonly referred to as "click-bait."

I was surprised to discover that Adblock was disabled on that page (CNN). When I turned it back on, the AdChoice ads disappeared. Thank heavens for Adblock. Some of these ads were particularly noxious because of the text (lies) they use as a come-on. The normal ads don't bother me that much. You can easily identify them by the small icons saying "Adchoices" on them.

I hate those too. The ones that really annoy me are the videos with loud sound. Sometimes I really have to search for them to stop them.
