Guess I got better with my scopes, since I found the third pedestal without too much trouble. Now, am trying to figure out how to get into that cable car thing. Door on third pedestal locked..and can't jump down to platform. I had hoped the lever on the first platform would help but no go. Is the map on the wall supposed to be an aid for this? Other than showing a green line...

I got that symbol, and I moved the cable car, but I cant get power to that area. Ive set the levers right im sure, but no power frown

You have to set the lever on the tram controls, the upper to the left and keep pulling down till it wont go anymore, and then goto the 3rd pillar and you should be able to get inside.

But meh, still cant get the power going :\

EDIT: Hurrah got power going, was very very pernickerty lol

KateVa,

You'll have to move the tram all the way back to the LEFT (i.e., top lever to the left, then pull the swithc until it won't go any farther). Then you'll get into the tram from the remote pillar side.

Waaah!!! What did you do to finish it? I have three settings for the scope machines...and no clue what to do next. I assumed that the numbers for the third scope would bring something new..but I have failed to find it. Should I be at that scope looking for a final set of numbers for the broken scope?

(And TY guys for getting me on the cable car!)

Did you not notice a new symbol for our magical buddies? smile

Ok what to do is this.

Set the Telescopes. Then use the tablet with the new symbol you found (in the area you climbed onto the cable car).

This shifts the planets around. Keep watching on the telescope screen that has the planet on it, and use full magnification, after if nothing is shown, use the tablet again. Keep going till something happens smile

WHERE the heck is the 3rd Pillar anyway. I just found out I have been looking at the 1st Pillar. I don't see a 3rd one anywhere from the plateau of the 2nd pillar. I only see the 1st one. I looked through the brackets of the big telescope and see the 3 symbols for the 1st pillar. The big telescope has been moved to the right coordiniates according to the picture in the book.

Dutch, I'll send you that symbol in the next few minutes. There are two pillars (with things of interest) besides the huge one you are on. So, the starting one is #1, then there is a skinny one (accessed with the symbol I emailed earlier), then another big one. The tram goes between the two big ones.

Hope that helps.

KateVa,

Spoilers below...

If you have the third set of symbols, you are ready to go to the back-left telescope settings machine in the red room.

After you set the numbers in, play with the viewer to see if you can get a better focus. See if you can find the important info that will allow you to move to a fourth pedestal!

KateVa, don't run that "supernova" symbol too many times. You have to match the orientation of the rings around the planet in the sky to the little symbol you saw above the third set of telescope setting symbols. The "supernova" action makes the rings change their angle.

After you get it right, THEN go to the third telescope setting machine and follow the advice above.

EDIT: I just read your post above - yes, the third symbol setting gives you the clue from the machine, not the telescope...

Very cool.

WHAT am I doing wrong. I set the coordinates for the left rear control panel with the symbols that were on the tram midway post. I have pushed the flashing green light and not pushed it. The same thing happens every time. I put the Advanced Time symbol on the slate drop it and the Bahro picks it up. He does not raise his hands to cause a blinding light. It worked a couple of times and now it wont work at all. It should because I go back to a previous save before.

Dutch,

Spoilers....

There was also a symbol of the planet with the Saturn-like rings on that tram post. You have to get the rings of the planet in the sky to match the orientation that was on that tram post symbol. This is done by executing the "advanced time" symbol. After you get the orientation right on the rings, then you can go to the back left telescope setting machine in the Red room and set the coordinates, press the green button once. THEN, you have to zoom in on the "view" using the little buttons on the upper right of the "view" screen on that machine.

Good luck,

Dadguy

I was putting the slate down in the wrong place. Now I am in the red control room. I zoomed in on the 4th icon circles within circles backed away from the control panel drew the circles on the slate dropped it. Bahro picked it up I went to the 1st pedestal and nothing happens. I hear a roar but no icon appears.I have waited for as much as 2 minutes without results. Is the first pedestal at the control room pillar am I in the wrong place?

Dutch,

If the symbol does not appear on pedestal #1 (less than 30 seconds) it means the Bahro doesn't recognize your symbol. Yes, the correct pedestal to check is the one outside and to the right a few stairs from the red room. The mouse drawing tool is a bit awkward to work with (all of my circkes look a little square). But, if you slip, just hit that little erase button and start again. Only one of my drawing attempts have failed to get the Bahro to recognize it, so it helps to be accurate.

For this symbol, make sure you have the circle on the outer ring off to the 1:00 position (not right on top) and make sure the line doesn't go through the outer circle.

Dadguy

Good luck,

Dadguy

Just an aside here...the rings never moved on the planet until I went back to the third pedestal once. I used the "memorized" symbol on the slate every time, so it wasn't a question of poor slate drawing. After that they moved wherever I placed the slate until they matched the hint. Very strange, but sure made finishing the age easier once they moved!!!

Just in case someone else has this problem, I suggest moving on to another age then returning later.

Kate

Todelmer is just visually stunning isn't it?

Where is everyone's favorite place to stand and watch the time advance symbol operate? I've tried a few locations.. one good one is near the first pedestal, on top of the first set of stairs.
Next I'm going to try running back right up to the top of that first pillar and watch it from that vantage point! I love watching that huge blue moon/satellite with the rings heel slowly over! laugh

Is anyone else overthinking things a little? I had drawn a lovely colour coded map from the picture in the cable car building and wandered around for ages trying to identify everything and decide which code went with which control. Then I took another look at those nice BIG circles by the controls. Ooooh, I see. slapforehead rotfl

DrDel,

I liked watching the time-advance from the middle stop of the Tram. I was able to watch as the rings in the sky slowly matched the rings on the symbol clue.

Yo boomers - I have done everything I can in Todelmer, but I now have a problem I cant Leave. I did everything to the end, got my slate, dropped it, Bahro picked it up and its on the first pedestal, but, I CANT GET THE TRAM TO WORK. I have moved levers, been and done everything I can think but I cant get the tram powered up to move, How do I repower and move the tram so I can see the symbols halfway between the lst and third pillar. I know the ending, but I would like to go by the book.

Your post is a little confusing as you say you've done everything... but I'm not clear.. did you ever use the tram yet? You ask how to 'repower' it..that suggests you used it once and can't get it to go anywhere now.

If you've never used the tram as yet, you need to turn on the power at the third pillar.. at the third pillar, starting from the tram, go into the building and start up the stairs.. you'll see a second round greenish window with two levers that have to be adjusted.. did you already turn that on so that there is power to the third pillar? It works the same way the one in the Red Room on Pillar #1 works.

Once the power comes on (and it's quite unmistakable when it does), get in the tram then turn so you are facing the control lever, pull it toward you.. tram'll start moving and then will stop half way between first and third pillars.. turn and look to your right... that's where the last set of co-ordinates are.

I finally got the tram going. Silly me, didnt put enough elbow grease on it when I pulled. I finally lined up the planets and am out of there, now in noloben so I expect youll be hearing from me again. This is a beautiful game. Definately a keeper to play again.

I'm here now, finally & already I've got a stupid problem. First of all I am carrying my dirty brown slate (I know the WT said to put it on the pedestal but somehow I ignored that) am in the control room have moved to sliders gone back out climbed stairs to blocked path, gone back down to control room, gone up red lit stairs, moved left slider up & middle slider to R, but don't see a green button to push.

Thanks

Mome
