Places all of the letters in the alphabet into the grid using the following clues.

The letters in Column D can be rearranged to spell "PLIGHT"
The letters in Row 2 can be rearranged to spell "PROUD"
The letters in Column A can be rearranged to spell "FADE"
M, N and O are found in the same column
J, X and Z are found in the same row
I and W are in the same row
S is in a row number lower than the row where M is found
W and M are adjacent either horizontally or vertically
C, Q and Y are found in the same column
All letters must be adjacent to a letter before or after it in the alphabet in at least one direction, horizontally or vertically

luck

That is utterly cruel, Cue crazy

I'm a bit confused with the "adjacent rule".
I have E directly below D, D at 2A and E at 3A.
So that meets the "adjacent" rule for both: yes?

Btw, can you confirm that my D,E are properly
placed...if not, it'll take me out of my misery!!
If you'd rather not, no problems...

I'm a man of few words, BUT I use 'em often!!

I think that your placing of D and E must be correct, Denis.

It took me a while to solve this one so I figured it would be up someone else's alley here too...lol.

You're accurately on your way, Denis grin Yes, all 26 letters of the alphabet get placed in the grid.

The most adjacent squares you can have are four but they all don't have to be filled with adjacent alphabetical letters, just one...but there could be more.

Is there more than one solution?

I don't think so, Lex. I solved it with logic and my solution matched the answer page.

Great solve, CCB! praise I had to start it a couple of times before I realized an early mistake.

Click to reveal..
When I was placing the adjacent alphabet letter for "A", somehow I let my mind think that B or Z would apply, doing the whole wrap around thing. Once I realized that wasn't the case, everything started to fall into place.

I only got as far as 12 letters correctly placed, but was confusing myself about M and S by misreading the instructions and trying to place S lower on the grid rather than in a lower numbered row hardwall

That was a tricky rule, Lex. Fortunately I thought about it and jumped over that trap lol
