I have a problem! I went to use the key on the orange lockbox in Louise's apartment and when I clicked on the box the key disappeared and the box is still locked! What the? The key is not in my inventory. I don't know what happened? Any ideas? I will probably have to go back to my last saved game and start over. cry

I moved your post into a new Profound Red thread - the thread you posted in was for Colour of Murder.

The walkthrough states:

Quote:
Go to living room. Look close at the wooden box right of the bedroom door. Use the ornament from locker room on box. Take the key. Go to the orange locked cash box in the bedroom. Use the key just taken on cash box. Open and look close at coin with 3842 written on it.

Are you sure that you can't just open the box now? The key disappearing is what should happen, now that you have used it and no longer have a use for it.

The box won't open. It still shows the gear on the lock.

I think Mikael told me about this. I will check, but is it possible you might have slipped on the mouse and clicked back at the same time? I know he said that there was a bug and it might have been at that place. Hang on and I'll send him here ...

I have spoken to him now, and it is a bug at that exact spot. It happens when you click on back I think when you try to open the box. The only thing you can do is to go back to your nearest save. It's a hard bug to find since it probably happens by accident. I have beta-tested it lots of times but never noticed it. Hope you have a good save to go back to.

(oops, should've edited my post instead of posting again. thanks for the fix smile )

No problem, happy to help. It's a good thing there's a lot of save slots. I usually save at every new location, just in case. But hopefully, this is the only bug in the game.

I have to say that I do forget it at times, especially the first time I play a game. Engrossing indeed. lol

Oh thank you! I do remember a mouse slip at that moment. At first I thought that I had dropped the key and was supposed to look for it. LOL I'm glad that Mikael cleared that up. Well, I will have to go back quite a way to my last save but that's ok. I am really enjoying the game so far. Another winner Mikael! thumbsup Thanks all for responding! thanks

Sorry for that. It seems to occur very seldom, since it more or less requires that one slips with the mouse. It will be corrected in the next version.

I started from my last saved game and was very very careful when I came to the orange lockbox. It worked and I'm on my way! joy2

I have the same problem!
Too bad my last save was rather far away - still, some chance to look at all the beautiful pictures one extra time smile

I tried to make this happen, and I have to say that it took several tries to click that fast backwards while the box was opening. And two of you have already managed it! If you didn't have to replay stuff I would say well done. It's not easy to do. (Yes, I'm trying to be funny and remove the disappointment. How did I do?) wink

You did well, Kim. It now sounds like it should be part of a Special Achievement. laugh

Maybe Mikael can add it to achievments if it ends up on Steam? lol
