Many words have more than one meaning. For instance, 'set' can mean to lay the table, a division of play in tennis or the solidification of jelly. In this quiz the answer is one word that can substitute for three or four phrases in each question.

-1.Paul, the football trainer is on the bus with his players. They are on the way to an interstate game where he will teach them some fundamentals of the game. 5 letters

-2.Esme, the psychic of average size used a crystal ball as an apparatus to achieve her readings. Her satisfaction rating was 64%, an intermediate score. 6

-3.Which approach will you use to interview the member of the Germanic tribe from Schleswig-Holstein about how he likes to fish in the river? 5

-4.I was fastening the device which secures my belt in position when I felt my knees collapse. I awoke in hospital to find my family standing there. They arrived by car rather than train as the railway tracks were liable to warp due to the heat of the scorching day. 6

-5.Let's warm ourselves by the fire. It's time to raise our glasses and drink in honour of Prometheus who gave mankind the power of fire. Then, let's brown some bread in the fire until it's brown and crunchy. 5

-6.I've completed my studies and I now have a university qualification. My course focused on an individual unit used to measure temperature. The amount of effort I put into my course was reflected in my marks. 6

7.The cooking competition in the area of land with few undulations went well. Patty's score was even with Marge's even though Patty's cake's surface was perfected by using a instrument with a bubble in a liquid filled tube. 5

-8.Darren, please place these instructions about how to make an engraved design which authenticates a document in the envelope and close the envelope to ensure no air can enter. I don't want a fish-eating pinniped to get its fins on it. 4

-9.Geoffrey, hand over that staff so we can plan what to do with the 5 1/2 yards of street frontage we have. Should we start a shop selling a fisherman's implement? 3

-10.The jeweller placed the remainder of his diamonds on the scale to make sure he hadn't been cheated. Once satisfied, he would spend the evening trying to adjust his accounts accordingly. 7

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
