Video on Youtube which I did not watch, its about the supposed five year plan of the new show runner. I was afraid it might give away the new Doctor.

It's amazing how long that show has been on the air

I've just watched series 10 episode 10 think on Danish TV. The one where the Doctor searches forthe lost 9th Roman Legion. And I have to say I'm very disappointed in the good doctor. He never has been one to make fun of anyone - but in this episode he did. Also he seemed to think that a woman could not fight a fight as good as a man. Also, the whole time I was reminded of this: The doctor had a plan to fight the enemy in this episode - but what about him working with the two sides (the other sides being the Picts) instead of him coming up with a plan trying to save everyone. But I'm mostly disappointed in the Doctor's attitude towards the Pict woman who was trying to save her tribe from the enemy - he never has done this before, I think - not as long as Peter Capaldi has been the Doctor.

The episode for those of you who haven't seen it yet is about the Doctor looking for the lost 9th Roman Legion. He, and Bill, meets up with the Picts, and the Romans. The Doctor,
when he meets the picts makes fun of the weapons that the Pict Guardian, a woman, is using to put the enemy, a monster from another dimension, back to its dimension. After the Picts and the Romans meet, the Doctor says something that gets them to work together - protecting the dimension door to where the monsters come from. And so the episode ends.

I have been waiting for some quiet time to watch the end of the season that I have PVR'd. So I just watched the last 4 episodes. Of course, the most interesting were the last 2, but I did enjoy the Roman Legion one.

I thought the way they handled the language barrier was a good reminder that the TARDIS has other benefits. And, when you hear someone speaking your language for the first time, they usually do sound like children trying out something new.

The 2 part finale was very good.

The time dilation aspect of the ship allowed for the full spectrum of cybermen models to be shown. I thought the earlier ones were much scarier. I am glad Bill got a happy ending. The Doctor finally found out he was a good man, and I think he wants to die this way. Not have to regenerate and learn the lesson all over again. That is why he is so reluctant to regenerate. I think he just wants it to end.

The why everyone in the universe seems to be speaking English first came up in a 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah Jane Smith episode in which she suddenly recognized that the other people were probably speaking Latin and she didn't understand or speak it. And they wouldn't understand or speak English either. That entire scene with the Roman soldier was based on that classic series scene.

Here's the link to that video I didn't watch about the 5 year plan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc64r2olGcI

BBC just announced who the next Doctor is going to be - it is to be a woman:

Spoilers ahead - if you don't wish to know!

A relevant quote:

Quote:
After months of fevered speculation, Jodie Whittaker has been named as the new Doctor Who, the first female Time Lord in the show's history.

Edit:

Here's another relevant quote:

Quote:
The Christmas special will see David Bradley making an appearance as the first Doctor, the role originally taken by actor William Hartnell in the Sixties, meaning that three different incarnations of the Time Lord will appear in the same show.

The new Dr Who, Jodie Whittaker, has not pleased all the fans of the series. Opinion seems to be divided over here as many put the choice down to pleasing the PC brigade. Not my view, I stopped watching years ago, however I hope she will win over the doubters

Jodie Wittaker is a good actress, I am looking forward to what kind of Doctor we are going to have. Too bad Billy is gone. There would have been an opportunity for romantic tension, albeit probably one sided.

I tried but gave up on Dr. Who. Matt Smith was my favorite and Clara kept me through the early Capaldi cycle but this year with Bill was unwatchable for me.

The addition of Jodie Whittaker may be a game changer for me though. I loved her in Broadchurch and I will be tuning in to see her take over the role.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.
