Cox switched over to total HD programming (so they said) and we all had to either buy the BIG box that does all that recording stuff, or several mini-boxes that bring in the HD signal on any TV (even my old 13" VCR/TV combos. Bad thing is that after one year of 'free' boxes, they are now charging almost 3 bucks for each one. Still, ya can't get much without them AND it includes an on-screen program guide so I can see what's on without leaving through my TV guide magazine. I guess I'll keep up with all the new fangled stuff.
I did hear a lot about those 'smart' TV's and people hacking into them and listening to stuff. Don't know if it's true.

We have had HD for awhile and it's nice. Then again we had replaced a huge projection TV that we held onto a few years after it started deteriorating. Ana

It's all a plot to get us to buy new TVs. I like the old ones, just like I like the old (develop at the store) photos. For some reason, the computer printed ones, although they are beautiful, just don't have the 'depth' that I'm used to. I have to reset my mind to the new technology I guess. But I'm not going for the 3-D TV, or the curved screen TV, or the ultimate 4,5,6,7 HD whatever they are selling models. No picture in picture, no split screen, so surround sound, nothing that talks back to me, and all that fancy stuff. I like simple.

oldbroad, there is a tiny cable that attaches to the wall to prevent the flat screens from tipping. The cat can't knock it over. We had to install them because of my toddler grandson but it's just a good idea anyway. Ana
