I will not follow where the path may lead, but I will go where there is no path, and I will leave a trail.

MURIEL STRODE

I'm gonna do that too. I'm leaving a trail of breadcrumbs so I can find my way back if I get lost. cool

Church Bulletin Bloopers

Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa, will be speaking tonight at Calvary Methodist. Come hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa.

The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals. The sermon this morning: “Jesus Walks on the Water.” The sermon tonight: “Searching for Jesus.”

Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Don’t forget your husbands.

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say “Hell” to someone who doesn’t care much about you.

Don’t let worry kill you off – let the Church help.

Miss Charlene Mason sang, “I will not pass this way again,” giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Jack’s sermons.

The Rector will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing: “Break Forth Into Joy.”

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.

These mistakes have been collected from Sunday school teachers, Catholic school teachers and others

This comes from a Catholic elementary school. Kids were asked questions about the Old and New Testaments.

In the first book of the bible, Guinessis, God got tired of creating the world, so he took the Sabbath off.

Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. Noah’s wife was called Joan of Ark. Noah built an ark, which the animals come on to in pears.

Lot’s wife was a pillar of salt by day, but a ball of fire by night.

The Jews were a proud people and throughout history they had trouble with the unsympathetic Genitals.

Samson was a strong man who let himself be led astray by a Jezebel like Delilah.

Samson slayed the Philistines with the axe of the Apostles.

Moses led the Hebrews to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread which is bread without any ingredients.

The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert. Afterwards, Moses went up on Mount Cyanide to get the ten ammendments.

The first commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple.

The seventh commandment is thou shalt not admit adultery.

Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol.

The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.

David was a Hebrew king skilled at playing the liar. He fought with the Finklesteins, race of people who lived in Biblical times.

Solomon, one of David’s sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.

When Mary heard that she was the mother of Jesus, she sang the Magna Carta.

When the three wise guys from the East side arrived, they found Jesus in the manager.

Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption.

St. John the blacksmith dumped water on his head.

Jesus enunciated the Golden Rule, which says to do one to others before they do one to you. He also explained, “a man doth not live by sweat alone.”

It was a miracle when Jesus rose from the dead and managed to get the tombstone off the entrance.

The people who followed the Lord were called the 12 decibels.

The epistles were the wives of the apostles.

One of the oppossums was St. Matthew who was also a taximan.

St. Paul cavorted to Christianity. He preached holy acrimony, which is another name for marriage.

Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony.

Good Sunday morning everyboomie. welcome

It's dark here now, so I think I'll just turn my clocks ahead an hour, and go to bed now. happydance

I guess I'd better not. It would still only be 8:00. razz

I don't know though. It's all in the mind, and I certainly don't mind going to bed early. wink

Saturday was boring here, and Sunday we're at least going to get sunshine. bravo

That would be because of God laughing at those church bloopers I suppose. snicker

Sunshine would surely brighten my mood anyway.

That or a good looking woman. witch

Have a happy day everyone.

Set all my clocks (useful and decorative) yesterday afternoon. Only one left is the car clock. I'm going out for paint and will set it then. Seems that when they mixed my custom (replacement) teal paint, I brought in a chip that had been sunbleached. When I started to paint the front door area, the paint is about 3 shades lighter than it should be and I hate it. I tried to take some photos to match, but they came out too blue and not teal. Going to try to explain to the paint guy that I need the same teal in 3 shades darker and see what kind of face he gives me. I know what I want, but can I convince him? Gonna try. Doesn't help that I'm color blind, but I can sort darker and lighter and match them. Of course I can match a nice blue to the same shade of purple and never know the difference. So off I go on my quest.

I did it! Yes yes yes! I went to Homely Depot and tried again to match the Teal paint on my house trim. First effort was way too light. I guess I took a chip from a post that had been in the sun the longest. So I took another darker chip from a shady spot.

Got a nice guy who looked at me strangely when I explained I needed paint a few shades darker than the last batch and since I was colorblind could he help. So he looked at the 'samples' and brought one that had 2 shades. One lighter, one darker and from what I could see, I needed one IN BETWEEN those two choices.

He mixed up a quart and it was way too light, so I asked if it could be darker. He tried but the second try was just not dark enough and there was no more room in the can to add stuff. So I told him I'd take the one he made (can use it around the house and sheds anyway) and he mixed up a THIRD try.

Third time's a charm. I brought home both cans and dabbed the 'darker' one on my door and it was PERFECT. Yep, you can't tell where the old paint begins and the new one starts. I'm thrilled!!!!! Tried it on one of the posts and got the same result. I'm really happy and will get this stupid project done so the Insurance guy can come and take a picture that it's 'fixed' so I can have my homeowner's coverage renewed. Still think it's stupid for just some ratty peeling paint, but I don't make the rules.

Ahhh the joys of custom paint mixing along with colorblindness. Shades showed up fine to me, just not the color. Such a strange disability to have. I've learned to cope.

Tomorrow....painting all day.
