It's not always easy to get into the necessary mindset to play these really old games (certain mental adjustments are definitely required)
I never really understood how anyone could have enjoyed the early Sierra games until I watched playthroughs on YouTube by people who love them -- and got an idea of the "mindset" you have to be in -- where you pretty much have to enjoy finding ways to kill your character.
Of the two Laura Bow games, I like the first one a LOT better. But I wouldn't play either one (or any other early Sierra game) without a walkthrough or at least a guide to tell me what not to do.
