I am in need of some "hints" or a FAQ for this cute little game, love the blue fella, cannot figure out what to do now that I have freed my green friend (can't remember his name), would like to pick a banana (but how? or do I need one), need to find some way to help Ike with his sneezes (what do I need?), need to get/BAAG a boat but have no way to make any money, what am I supposed to do in the bar? What do I need or want in greenfriends cave? Where do I go from here?
HELP please help \
Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, you can switch to your green friend who can kick some trees and help also with the mushroom in his house in the cave.

The barman can help with a recipe for Ike.

Did not do the boat yet.

Ike gives you a boat in pieces when you cure his sneezes, you just have to figure out how to put it together.

Thanks Olderone, that gave me the clue to put all the pieces of the boat together and finally get to the island.

Have a good day.

Is there a "hotkey" to switch from blue (me) to green friend? an 'F' key or something like the spacebar? Thanks

Betty Lou, have tried a few keys and found nothing.
Just click on them to switch.

Notice that the inventory is only there with the blue one.

Have fun.

No. There is no hotkey for that (and there is a reason for that, too).

Are you having trouble with switching characters? In that case you need to convince Gurra to come along. That must be done before he becomes a playable character.

Hi Trumgottist, I'm along Laura on the cliff.

Have made some fire. In inventory, I have berries, pickaxe and other things.

Have seen Affe and talked to him. The troll is behind his leaves.

I need a little hint to go forward.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Questions, I have so many questions:
What are the clues or where are they that give me (Frasse) the idea of 'switching' to Gurra and back and forth? Switching is not working or I don't know how to do it.....and why would I think to do that in the first place?
How do I 'convince Gurra to follow' me? All I can ask him is "what happened?" Why would I even get such an idea?
Is Ike supposed to tell me he needs a 'sneeze cure'? He won't talk about anything but the boats he sells. I can't even figure out how to tell him Geshundite! Is he supposed to tell me the remedy he needs or not? If not, how do I figure this one out?
Be warned, I don't usually play my adventure games without a walkthrough or hints available to me, guess I am just not thinking like an 'adventurer' but I enjoy the games so much anyway and I keep trying but seem to get nowhere....would love it if I could get some help here, there is no 'user manual' on how to do things, figured some of it out on my own but seem now to be stuck.......Thanks
Love, Betty Lou

First show Gurra the message about finding the peas and then he will come with you. Switching is easy you just put the curser on the one you want to swith to and click the left mouse button and they switch. Same with switching back. I found if I couldn't do anything else in a scene i would switch and see if the other character could do something more. You get the formula for the sneeze cure in the bar. When you take all the ingredients back the owner he will mix it for you.

Thanks olderone, but isn't that a bit backwards, to gather the ingredients before I know the recipe and what it calls for? Thanks again for the help.

The owner will give the recipe then you go gather the ingredients go see the boat guy and back to the bar and let Gurra talk to him.

Thanks olderone, now how do I get the bees to give or trade me some of their honey, they don't want my banana flower or any bananas either....what else would 'do' for them? Or maybe I can hypnotize them? Gurra won't climb the tree to help.

Do you have the rope from the tree around the side of the bar? If you do you can have Frasse climb the tree and place the rope on the branch, climb back down then Gurra can be hoisted up the tree and talk the bees into giving him some honey. He drops it to Frasse.

Edit: Glad you dropped in, I just wanted to say again how much I liked this game.

(Trivia: An alternate solution is to make use of the ingredient list. This was actually the original solution, but a beta tester suggested the rope thing and I agree that it's better. It's probably also the only solution anyone finds.)

Got the boat, put it together, now where did I see some cloth for a sail (will Gurra's rug do? and a pole to put it on?), or those funny sticks I can use for oars?........... laugh

No sail. No oars. You need something to pull the boat.

Well, I am not able, yet, to rope the bird, but have fed it a couple of bananas - should I keep feeding it so it gets 'heavy' and I can catch it?

Betty Lou, when you said you fed the bird a bunch of bananas, that made me think of something I was wondering yesterday. Brianna threw one banana at the bird before she figured out what to do--I hope she's not going to need that banana somewhere down the road? She still has several left, but the tree is bare, so she can't get any more.

Does anyone know about this--she is sailing right along and having such fun (her mother had to drag her out of her the other day lol ), I would hate to have her hit a big snag.

Also, I added "contains spoilers" to your title, Betty Lou--we've gotten enough answers in this thread that I thought it would be better to warn people. This is such a cute game that I would hate to see someone read more than they wanted to know...

There is no way to get rid of the last banana until it's not needed any more. Unless you find a new and unknown bug somewhere, there is no way to place the game in an unwinnable state.

The sneeze remedy can be solved in an alternative way, without the rope.

Oh Boy, I seem to make it just so far on the ideas that come to me then I get STUCK...I got past the troll, up to Tom and picked up an item and borrowed an item, started a fire half way up and don't know what to do now. Met the sister too, but that's been the end of our conversation. What do I do now to proceed, can't cook supper, don't want cooked berries, she does not need anything and I want to get to the top! HELP if you can please

Your not actually past the troll, there's a path you'll see when you scare him off. Now take the leaves you took from the troll and put them on the fire, then go back to the troll and have Gurra talk to him about the dragon.

Whoops, I put the leaves back on the troll and just walked past him to the cliff, talked to Tom and borrowed an item, picked up the flint, climbed the rope started a fire talked to 'sis' and now what? Go back to Affe (troll) and do what to scare him off? Goodnight all, see you tomorrow.

Nan, there is a big tree in the same place as the tree that had the bananas in it. Frasse can climb trees and you will find the bees up there.

Betty Lou, go back and take the leaves off the troll and put them on the fire.

Let's wait for Trumgottist or other vets of the game to help you.

I did just a 2 hr and a 10 min run on the game yesterday. Stopped at showing the dragon clue card to Gurra. Didn't want to spoil the puzzle by letting Gurra solve it.

Hope you have found those bees......MaG, you know by now that Frasse and Gurra are two sides to the same coin, don't you? and that they work together to find the solution to a task, one of them usually can't solve it alone.....Gurra does most of the important talking to find out what they need to know...
I went back before bed and after I posted here and got the troll Affe to go away, have been up that path and talked to the Zaks (how did Dr. Seuss's characters get in here?, must have wandered off and got lost and boy are they stubborn)! rotfl Anyway, have gotten them to leave twice now so we, Frasse and Gurra, can climb up further but we just stand there like two dummies and hold the Zak's places for them while they go use the loo, why can't we put those signs down and leave? Have tried to locate a compass to use, Tom does not have one. Thanks for any help

Betty Lou, get the zaks to leave again and then while ya'll are marking their spots.......switch signs with your friend. That should let you move forward with the game.

I don't think you're dense at all Betty Lou, took me awhile to figure out how to move those two out of my way. Who knew that berries would do that to a zak? Then it took longer to figure out about the signs.........ugh.
Stuck working on a combination of sorts now.

Well, Sue, this AM you are 'sharper' than me then, cause I can't seem to get Frasse and Gurra to switch signs, just keep switching each other and don't talk to each other either....another nudge-push-shove would help me here and thanks....

Betty Lou, look in Frasse's inventory please. You should see the sign you are holding in there......then just take it out of inventory and switch signs.

Well, I have the 'flag', dug the shovel out, picked up a snowball, dug a hole, and entered only to disappear - Gurra is in there and trying to find me, going around in circles, how do I get that lever pushed so he can enter the 'cage'? Not finding Frasse here yet, maybe behind that cage gate? Oh, woe is me! I've lost my best friend, myself!

Took me a few minutes to get this one knocked too Betty Lou. Try to get him to kick that shelf on the right side. Then get him to kick the ladder and knock it down..........go kick the shelf again. Should allow you to get beyond the gate.

Wow, that was a lot of posts!

The combination is a math puzzle. Those who don't like that sort of thing can show Gurra the sign with the clue and let him solve it. If you want to solve it yourself, I can tell you that all info on that sign is important, and that all info you need to solve it is on that sign.

The other questions seem to be answered by others, unless I missed something.

Trumgottist,
My answer to the code is the same for the first 4 digits but has a 5 at the end, not what Gurra stated. think So had to resort to Gurra. frown

Thank you for a great game. Finished it earlier on my third run.

Potion - this is the sneezing remedy? If so - talk to the bartender after Gurra talked to the boatman.

A math problem? Calculations? FORGET ABOUT IT! I do not understand the clues nor the conversations going on about this number-code to pull that lever....I don't do well with this type of problem and have not figured out what "sign" to show to Gurra - clicking on him just switches Frasee to Gurra and back again.....Guess I am in need of a step by step walkthrough by now....PLEASE

There is a sign on the wall of the red room. Take it. You should also get rid of some darkness before dealing with the code.

A flashlight wouldn't help. The point of lighting that room isn't to get that room brighter. The light in these caves is magical, and affects the connections between the rooms (as you hopefully have noticed).

Look for something hidden in the red room.

Trumgottist, my 12 year old granddaughter, who is having loads of fun with your game (and doing very well, if I do say so!) wanted me to ask you: "how do you pronounce Frasse?" We've been saying "Frah-see" but that's probably not right... wave

If you mean that 'device' that was behind the sign in the red room and in the niche behind it, I already have that, what do I do with it? And I have tried to pick up that box but end up wearing it cause it is too big - so put it back (on the carpet which I also cannot pick up).

Betty Lou,

There is one room that you have not been yet in your roaming around - the brown one (based on the chart).
You also should have seen a room that is dark and has sparks on the ceiling.
Note that all the rooms have a colored light on the ceiling.
But you cannot reach the ceiling - so you need something to raise you up and also have something to make a light up on the ceiling.
You have both of those things now. luck

Well I have tried to pick up that ladder, no such luck. I could maybe use that box to climb up on, will give that a try. Those sparks are pretty, ah, maybe that item is really a 'light bulb'.....gotta go back and explore some more, thanks MaG. Have a nice supper, or is it much later there? It is about 5:20 here.

Move them in tandem since that door closes fast. Note that you can change to the other one using the radio.
Then you need something to block the lowering of the door.

Leave Gurra by red door.
Place Frasse by lever.
Frasse should have the object taken from the floor of the orange room. That is a 2 way radio.
Gurra should have the potato box in the red room close to the door.
Now that we set the items - Get Frasse pull the lever. Pull back, use the radio in inventory.
This will change to Gurra.
Immediately while the door is slowly going down - get Gurra to kick the box to the door.
Once it is blocked - get Gurra to use the radio to the red room to transfer to Frasse.
Move Frasse to red room and get him to enter the newly opened room.

If you have the peas the dragon will fly you to the king as soon as you show him the flier you have that started this quest.

OK, I never would have thought of that. Am now in a cell with no way out! Have several pieces of paper I could use to get the key but no pen or pencil or long nail-like thingy to poke in the keyhole. Can't reach the window to shout or see out of. Where is my friend Gurra? Oh woe is me!

Things are not as bad as they seem. Look at the wall and find a picture of a paper air plane, now make one from something you have and let it fly out the window.

I have been to the Princess' room, what a funny BIG dog! Found a "thingamabob" under the bed and nothing else. Now what do I do? I would like to talk to whoever is in that 'softly lighted room-window' but can't see into it, too short ya know. What should I do now? Would like to talk to the King but he is never alone......Oh where oh where is Gurra?
