We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace.

Superb answers to "Why Aren't You Married Yet?"

You haven't asked yet.

I was hoping to do something meaningful with my life.

Because I just love hearing this question.

Just lucky, I guess.

It gives my mother something to live for.

My fiance is awaiting his/her parole.

I'm still hoping for a shot at Miss/Mr. America.

Do you know how hard it is to get two tickets to Miss Saigon?

I'm waiting until I get to be your age.

It didn't seem worth a blood test.

I already have enough laundry to do, thank you.

Because I think it would take all the spontaneity out of dating.

My co-op board doesn't allow spouses.

I'd have to forfeit my billion dollar trust fund.

They just opened a great singles bar on my block.

I wouldn't want my parents to drop dead from sheer happiness.

I guess it just goes to prove that you can't trust those voodoo doll rituals.

What? And lose all the money I've invested in running personal ads?

I don't want to have to support another person on my paycheck.

Why aren't you thin?

I'm married to my career, although recently we have been considering a trial separation.

(Bonus reply for Single Mothers) Because having a husband and a child would be redundant.

2008: I will try to develop a realistic attitude about my weight.
2009: I will work out 5 days a week.
2010: I will work out 3 days a week.
2011: I will try to drive past a gym at least once a week.

Rained most of the night. I spent hours watching out for Mom and kittens. Mostly the Runt was in the bed safe and warm under the table. He was accompanied by several older siblings and Mom. At one time there were 4 huge cat heads sticking up and one little one. The white-footed one came and went crying around the deck. I couldn't do much to help. He/she won't let me near it. Runs off. But Mom must have tried to get it 'to bed'. This morning, feeding time, all cats present except white-foot. Not sure where it got to, maybe it's fine. Won't know till I see it. It's the one who is always alone while the total black ones group and pile together.

So I was surprised to see Runt ON the feeding table and his brother coming out from under it onto the chair. Runt comes to me easily, brother just looked at me and I picked him up and put them together. Runt doesn't lick from a dish yet, even kitten milk, but brother sure loved it. Lapped up fast and had to put more down since the BIG cats got in there too. Currently, Mom and the 2 are back in the bed under the table with the other bigger litter from before come and go. They all stick together. This is the first time I've seen older cats happy to group with the new babies. Very interesting.

Last night, as usual, the raccoons came to eat, but MOM immediately came out from under the table and hissed and batted the first one. Amazing how a tiny cat can stand up to a huge raccoon. Raccoon ran off and returned and got the same treatment. Dunno what happened later, but I recorded all night and will see it when I have the time. Hopefully white-foot wasn't on the menu. Raccoons usually don't go after live animals unless they are starving and around here, nothing starves.

Off to sweep pepper tree leaves off the deck and see what goes on today. Gonna be cold and windy and possibly more rain.

Things are looking up in the kitten/mom department. After breakfast, I looked out and lo and behold, 2 of the bigger ones were across the driveway (about 30 feet) and were being followed by TWO of the little ones. Yeah. The missing white-foot and the bigger all black one. White-foot ducked under my car, but the black one let me walk over and pick him up. Guess he's a bit more friendly or just really stupid.

So I got that one back to the table, dumped it into the bed underneath and it kept coming out and eventually was running around the deck PLAYING with the bigger cats. Lots of running and jumping and batting. Cute but scary. Now they are somewhere. I see one small head in the bed with Spot, the long hair from the first litter. They seemed very happy. Mom is in the other bed (I managed to find one last night for the second chair so there would be less crowding. It worked.

Now I will just have to watch the driveway and hope that the tiny guys don't wander out there again. I'll inform my tenants. Only one drives and he's very careful so he will watch, I hope.

It's just like herding cats. Oh wait! It IS herding cats! rotfl blackkitty catrub

Good afternoon SpaceQ! Monday is over with, only 4 more to go!

soot, I can just picture Joe whipping around the store! rotfl

Sorta, glad you found him!

I ran over a ground hog today after it decided to run across the road in rush hour traffic. Thank goodness it ran away afterwards so I am hoping it was just the tail. Scared me! I couldn't break any harder without getting rear-ended.

Ana, hate when that happens. I hit a squirrel when I was driving to work about 15 years ago and every time I go past that spot, I remember that poor squirrel and hope he was OK since he ran away too. Made it worse since there were a pair of them running across. Hate when that happens.

As for kittens. Ugh. It will never end. Runt is sleeping in the 'bed'. Mom took off for the driveway and the larger all black started to follow and got 'lost'. I grabbed him and put him in the bed, but he kept jumping out. Put him and runt in a carrier and waited for Mom to hear the cries and when she returned I opened the cage. She took the larger one, half dragging but letting him follow. They joined the white-footed one in the side yard. runt is back in the bed. Darn that mother cat. She's just not a good mommy. Maybe she will return and grab runt. I'm going NUTS!

Looked out from front porch and saw Mom with 2 kittens (white foot and big black) and then Spot the long hair. Mom disappeared with white foot and then there was huge long hair Spot in the yard, camped out in some tall grass WITH the large black kitty. I guess he's taking care of him. This will never end.

Sorta, you are a good mommy to those kitties. Wish you could get them all fixed.
