Awesome.

Okay, everyone, the burning question: who should play Geralt of Rivia? Ideas?

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Karl Urban in a second. The guy's a chameleon; he can play pretty much anything. He's got the build for it, carries himself with confidence and can get his voice in a similar range.

Here's an image of Urban as Eomer in Lord of the Rings. He's a bit older now, so add some white hair, contacts, the scar and there you go
Karl Urban as Eomer

I've always liked Karl Urban. I wish his TV show had gained more traction -- thought it had potential if it had just been given a chance. So Karl for Geralt? Sure. And he already has the fantasy acting chops.

It definitely has to be somebody in the right age range.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Oh, yeah... I could see Karl Urban as Geralt for sure!

Right. Now we just have to tell Netflix to give Karl a call, and Bob's yer uncle! grin I mean, who better to decide on the casting than a group of RPG players/rabid Witcher fans?

Just saw a tweet from Urban showing off his new "hairdo" for Thor:Ragnarok. Looks like Hemsworth isn't the only one who cut his hair for the movie, Urban's head is completely shaved! So, looks like they'll need that white wig if he's going to play Geralt.

Speaking of movies that Urban has been in, have you ever seen Chronicles of Riddick or Dredd (2012)? Both are very violent, Dredd much more than Riddick, at least in the presentation of overt violence. If you get a little weak in the ankles over blood being spilled Dredd is definitely not something to watch, but if you can handle it, the violence is almost artistic in the way it's presented. Probably one of the best adaptations of a graphic novel to film, made to date. Riddick is a huge sci-fi romp. I'm also a fan of Vin Diesel, because he's so far from the characters he plays. I always grin when he's in an interview when the movie tough guy is getting all broken up talking about his little daughter. grin He and Urban had a great chemistry as adversaries in Chronicles of Riddick. I was happy when Diesel confirmed that the next movie in the series is in the works.

Um, er... and then there's that game stuff...ah... RPG's and The Witcher and Geralt and stuff. (That awkward moment when the forum mod goes off topic like a mad man lol )

grin

Actually, you weren't off topic. Because of course Vin Diesel is "in" Escape from Butcher Bay, which is an awesome computer game. So a movie with Vin Diesel, computer game character, and Karl Urban, our choice for Geralt of Rivia, is totally on topic for a computer game forum.

EDIT: So now of course I've had to download Escape From Butcher Bay and interrupt the several games I'm playing already (though it must be said that my Fallout 4 game is really about finding the height limit on many of the settlement building sites. Skyscrapers in the Wasteland, as it were).
