Not if you've copied the correct files from the game CD to a folder on your hard drive and pointed ScummVM at them.
2nd the game is playing a little erratic by way of Scummn which is loaded On C: drive. Low is not doing what he is suppose to in some places and According to the walkthrough the wrong color rod are in the wrong place
The first one near the sparking wire is the wrong color, and in some places He doesn't do what he suppose to do. Do you know of any of the other GB are having the same problem.
No, but it's been so long since I played that I wouldn't notice a wrong color. ScummVM says compatibility with The Dig is "good" but not "excellent."
http://scummvm.org/compatibility/1.9.0/Maybe an occasional wrong color is what they mean? You shouldn't be having any problem that prevents you from being able to finish the game. If you are, you should report it to Scumm.
You might ask whether anyone has had these problems at ScummVM Help and Support forums, and if there is any tweak to fix them.
