Steam would install any patches automatically.
The only patch I know of is the NoCD to remove StarForce on the disc version.
Why do you think you need a patch?

Any saves would have been made with an older version of the game than what Steam is selling. I don't know if Steam made any changes to the game other than removing StarForce.
