Howdy folks - long departed (10 years?) forum participant here. I had kids and of course lost most of my free time, and playing adventure games was one of the unfortunate casualties.

I'm curious about whether some of you long time players have dipped your toes into real life escape rooms, which have just exploded in popularity over the last few years. Full disclosure - my wife and I operate our own escape room business in Canada - one job was just not enough for me!

For those who have tried it - how does the experience compare with gaming?
For those who haven't - what about the experience doesn't appeal to you?

I did two of them. I love it, even though I did not succeed on either one. Ours were way too hard. I am looking for one that doesn't involve way too far out there thinking. For instance, in my circle of friends and family we did these with a top attorney from a well known large worldwide corporation, a programmer, a realtor, an accountant, a carpenter and me, who writes strategy guides and figures out game puzzles on my own before games are released. I would have to say we have a fairly intelligent group. We could not do either one except for a few steps.
