What challenges can I expect in accessing my Big Fish games? My purchase hiatory is quite extensive and there are quite a few games in my Game Manager. I'll be using a laptop until I get a new pc. Will I be able to get to my currently activated games from the laptop? Thanks in advance for any input.

As long as you can access your ACCOUNT at Big Fish, you can redownload any and all of your games. Your account is where all access to your games is kept. Make sure you get a laptop with enough "oomph" to play games on. If you do any adventure gaming, you may want to consider getting one with a stand alone video card.

Do you know what part of it went bad?
If it's just a matter of replacing the power supply, it could be fixed.

HUbby is going to take it to a local computer shop to see if they can fix it. It's seven years old and may just be ready to go. If it can be fixed for a reasonable price, we'll keep it. Hubby is a retired IT professional, but he has no idea what to look for. The computer made lots of noise before it died, actually shaking the desk in its death throes.

P.S. I'm able to get to my purchased games from my Purchase History on my laptop. But I also had a lot of game demos in my Game Manager. Is there a way to access the Game Manager from my laptop? It would also help for me to know which games I've already played as opposed to new ones. The best I can figure out is to organize my Purchase History by date. The earliest dates would be games I haven't yet played. I have a quite a few in that category. But that doesn't solve the problem of finding out which games in my Game Manager have not yet been purchased.

You will install the Game Manager on your new computer should you get one. When you go into your Purchase History now, are your Demos listed? If not, then I'm afraid you will have to rebuild that "library" on your new computer. Looking at your purchase history by date - which is how I think they automatically sort them - should give you a good idea of what you'e played and what you haven't.

The shaking and noise doesn't sound good... but who knows... maybe it was just a fan that died. At 7 years old, I'd say a it's time for a new one anyway.

Sounds like a problem with a fan.
Could be a fan in the power supply.
Could be a fan on the video card.
Could be the fan on the processor.
Could be a case fan, though that's less likely to keep the computer from starting.
But it does sound fixable.
Computers can last far longer than seven years, though power supplies usually don't.
Whether you'd benefit from a new computer depends on the type of games you play.
Good luck.

Thank you, Jenny. Turns out that the computer shop hubby trusted is out of business. He decided to replace my old machine. Am doing well right now with my laptop. Glad I have that for a backup.

That's too bad. Replacing a power supply is not difficult as long as the computer uses a standard power supply.

Sometimes a local high school or community college will have a computer repair class and will fix computers for the cost of parts. Or if you don't want it, check to see if there's some place that fixes computers for people who can't afford them in your area.
