BF has two days for new CE's. This week, both games are very similar. Amulets, castles, villians, etc. Has BF run out of funny games, detective games, mystery games, scary games?

This is getting a little tedious, not to mention ridiculous. Does anyone else feel this way?

Thanks for any input.

Have you checked this one?
http://www.bigfishgames.com/games/11812/dead-reckoning-sleight-of-murder-ce

The "Dead Reckoning" series seems to be a detective series.

Then there is the recent Haunted Hotel game. If you want "scary" it's hard not to have the supernatural in there somewhere.

There are certainly "funny" games like
http://www.bigfishgames.com/games/18128/laruaville-6
though these aren't iHOG/adventures.

Jenny100: I've played both Dead Reckoning and Haunted Hotel. I don't care for match 3 games. My point was, why two so very similar games in one week?

I guess my types of games are not as popular, although I find that hard to believe.

Thanks for your reply.

I do believe that more games will come along that you prefer, Laurette.

I don't really think that the two games released this week are all that similar: Dark Realm and Myths of the World. They are both fantasy games, but for me the resemblance ends there - my opinion is based on only having played the demos, though.

I thought Bonfire Stories: The Faceless Gravedigger was pretty spooky, and that was a fairly recent release.

Have you tried playing some older ones while you're waiting for a new one you are interested in?

Recently I replayed "Castle: Never Judge a Book by its Cover."
I bought it 4 years ago, didn't remember much about it, but I thought it held up well. It was a murder mystery taking place in present day.

That's a good suggestion, Jenny. There are a lot of older titles on Big Fish that are still fun to play.

I picked up Castle with a free game code years ago and haven't played it yet - thank you for reminding me of it.

I'm replaying Mystery Trackers: Black Isle and Mystery Trackers: Raincliff. Black Isle runs fine on my Windows 8 laptop. Raincliff runs on my Windows 7 without crashing. I think Black Isle, Four Aces, Raincliff, Phantoms of Raincliff (or something like that), and maybe Blackrow's Secret are vastly superior to more recent offerings in the series or in general on BFG of late. If you've forgotten the ones I mention by name sufficiently, replay.

Laurette, I think we all have experienced this feeling of being tired of Big Fish after a while. I sure did, and I remember others posting similarly. There have been plenty of "dry spells" where the games weren't that interesting or they were repetitive, or whatever.

You also could try to find a new game by searching via the name of the game designer who has issued games you have liked previously. I will do a search for games by Eipix or Elephant, for example. This is far more productive than searching their "Library" of hundreds of games, only about 20% of which ever get a "A" rating from me. In any case, the way they have their game Genres separated makes little sense: Each genre contains the same games as the other genres! (Ex. You can't click "Puzzle" and get games that have only puzzle formats, but will get hundreds of HO games and even TM games, too.)

So, maybe try the game designer search, and you might find a game you missed. If that doesn't work, and you don't want to replay an old favorite, take a few weeks off, and check in with BF again in August. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your input. Don't think I ever played Castle, and am downloading the demo now.

Have you ever played Paranormal State: Poison Spring? I picked that up with a free game code and I'm enjoying it so far.

Paranormal State: It seems I had played this awhile ago. Re: Castle, I apparently didn't buy it for a reason, as my games showed I had 3 minutes left. Oh well.

I'm going to give that one a go myself, thanks, Jenny100 smile

I enjoyed the episodes of Castle I saw on TV so if the game reflects any of what was in those it could be right up my street grin

Don't feel bad. I have been feeling this for some time. It's not the games are bad, I have just grown tire of the repeating themes of ghosts or fantasy. The Dead Reckoning series is great, just a mystery. I just saw that the Castle Game was the game of the day and playing it and having a ball. I really hope that more detective HOPs or one like the Wedding series HOPs get put into the rotation.

Laurette, I loved the real scary, real spooky game Shadow Shelter. It was a fantastic game. Give it a try
