The Sinking City
“We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of the infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.”
— H.P. Lovecraft, “The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories”

The Sinking City is a game of investigation and mystery taking place in a fictional open world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

The player steps into the shoes of a 1920s private investigator who finds himself in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts, New England. A city suffering from unprecedented floods of clearly supernatural origins. A city trembling on the brink of madness.

Can you survive this beleaguered town and untangle the mysteries responsible for its tragic situation or will you be driven beyond madness yourself?

Release Date: TBD

Happy Gaming!

Too early for many details countzero. They have been working on it awhile, but much is still conceptual. Most of Frogware games can be played both 1st or 3rd person.

Hoping it won't be a "Steam Only" release think

Wow, this is an especially beautiful game. praise Mad, if their previous games are anything to go by, it will be a Steam only release, but it will release on GOG somewhere down the line. We may have to wait a few years, however. My concern is whether or not it will be action oriented like the latest Sherlock Holmes game. I still haven't purchased that game, as it looks like it contains too much action for me.

Wonder if this will be like Frogwares latest Sherlock release which wasn't well received with the Adventure community Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter. Frankly I never played Devil's Daughter but with all I have read it doesn't sound as if I would like it. Do I want The Sinking City to be more like the Adventures we are used to from Frogwares...you bet I do yes , but I am not holding out that this won't follow in what the Devils Daughter left us with. smirk http://frogwares.com/games/#The_Sinking_City

Judging by the look of the pre-alpha, we'll have more of the stealth and action sequences that irritated many players, myself included, in the Devil's Daughter. But the game looks beautiful and extremely detailed, so let's hope they're better implemented this time. You will most likely need a high-end PC to play this game.

I think that probably sums things up very well, Mikael.
