An alphametic is a mathematical puzzle where every letter stands for a digit from 0 – 9. The mapping of letters to numbers is one-to-one; that is, the same letter always stands for the same digit, and the same digit is always represented by the same letter.

2S = R which is obviously an even number
D = 1
E = S + D < 10
G = O + A < 10
N = R + O < 10
A = C + R > 9
0 is not used

By process of elimination and in order of deduction S = 3, R = 6, E = 4, C = 9, A = 5, O = 2, G = 7, N = 8

96233 + 62513 = 158746
