Bought it from sale, played through and liked it.

Some puzzles made me scratch my head for a while but I managed it through in 27 hours without any look at walkthrough and all hints and helps off.

Tried both keyboard with mouse and gamepad which I preferred. One 'complaint' with controls though. Kate was often a little 'disoriented' after moving from a place to another during cutscene. You had to be careful not to turn back right after.

Syberia 3 was something from totally different planet after The Evil Within with all DLC's which was my previous playthrough. I'm lucky to be quite omnivorous.

Have to think carefully what to play next...

Timo

Glad you enjoyed it TJL. I don't find it nearly as bad as many say it is, but then I don't think it's nearly as good as the originals, either. Thorsgoats likes it quite a bit. I really hope that they do well enough to make a sequel, as we need to know what happens after that ending.

venus, you are so right! We all want to know how the story continues and what happens to Kate an Oscar?

I too liked the previous games in the series more but the latest was good and interesting enough to wait for more to come.

I hope it won't take as long as it took between second and third!

Happy weekend and gaming!

Timo

Unfortunately, the poor reviews have scared me away and I didn't buy it on the recent sale. The poor controls, bugs, and lackluster story and characters are all fairly alarming. Come to think of it, I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the first 2 games either, which I did play. But I was still looking forward to the new game because of the more advanced technology and change in gameplay style. Industry people call this kind of thing a "reboot." You reboot an old franchise to attract modern players while also catering to the old fans. They could've made this using old-fashioned 2D flat graphics just like the first 2 games if they had wanted only to attract old fans. But they rebooted it, fundamentally changing the style of gameplay and design, and couldn't quite pull it off.

Usually a "reboot" means they start the story all over again -- a retelling, or sometimes a completely different story, as if the earlier stories never existed.

Syberia 3 does not do that. It continues pretty much where Syberia 2 left off, explaining how Kate was rescued by the Youkols after being marooned in Syberia at the end of Syberia 2.
