Is there a difference between a crock pot and a slow cooker?

I have a Daisy deep fryer with a crock pot liner for slow cooking but it is ancient and I believe the electric coil burned out, as the last time I used it, the meal took twice as long to cook and I was able to touch the side of the pot which only felt warm the whole time.

Do any of you use one, and if so, can you recommend it (the brand)? I have been looking on Amazon but it's a slow process for me. I sometimes prefer the days when there wasn't so much variety.

Thanks.

PS I don't mean to ask you to shop for me. Just asking what you use and if you like it, what brand it is so I can check it out.

Oldbroad, I have a Cuisinart small oval shaped crock-pot and a large Crock-pot brand slow cooker. I use both of them and like both of them. Just be sure you have the removable insert and that the pot switches to keep warm if you don't happen to be available when it's done. luck

Crock Pot is actually an original brand. Slow cookers are from other brands. I have 3 different sizes and use them all the time. Rival, Westinghouse, Cuisinart and Crock Pot are all brands and they are all great.

Thanks looney4labs and Draclvr!

I'll be taking a closer look soon. I don't cook as much as I used to but it didn't seem so bad using the slow cooker. I probably used it more last year than in all the prior years that I owned it.

I have a Hamilton Beach programmable slow cooker. The advantage is it has a meat thermometer probe. I love it. Use it quite often.

Thanks GBC.
I could have sworn I put a few in my wishlist for further review but I guess I didn't. Haven't gotten back to looking again yet.
