I'm playing Gilbert Goodmate And The Mushroom Of Phungoria (so much like Monkey Island 3, it's uncanny..lololol).

However, I'm stuck, can anyone help me ??? I have dug my way into the cave, but there is no wall puzzle to be seen. I DO have my fully charged glo-in-th-dark-pal, but it does not light up the cave to reveal the slider puzzle. I have clicked all over the screen with my glo-in-the-dark-pal but it just does not work. I'm stuck in the small cave, can't click on anything (apart from iron gates) and cannot move anywhere in the cave, except far right and even there my fully charged glo pal does not work when I click.

Please someone, help me out here, been stuck for ages. Where is the slider puzzle in the cave ?? And how to I get my fully charged glo-pal to work ??

Walkthroughs are no help as they all say the glo-pal will light up the cave and show the puzzle. My glo pal, does not work.

Any help would be smashing and just hoping my game is not to blame for the problem.

Hi bonniescot - Welcome

If memory serves you have to "use" your glo-pal not just click around the cave with it. I know I was stuck here for the same reason and I think that's what I finally stumbled on <img border="0" alt="" title="" src="graemlins/woozy.gif" />

Also remember, your glow-in-the-dark pal does not work real long. You will have to go back and recharge the thing a couple of times until you solve the puzzle. Also, the puzzle will not reset itself when you do have to go and recharge PAL.

I have followed all you advice, but am still stuck here at this part of the game. I know to keep charging my glo-pal, but I cannot find the stone puzzle. When it says to 'Use' my glo-pal, I do by clicking, but nothing happens. I have tried using it in all areas of the cave to no avail and even tried using it on Gilbert himself. Is there something else to do when it says 'Use glo-in-the-dark-pal' other than clicking ??? Sorry to be a pain, but this is driving me crazy.

We have 2 walkthroughs here at GameBoomers. Len's has hints and a complete walkthrough together.

Len states that the slider puzzle is 'There is a wall at the far right end of the cave with a slider-puzzle'.

My memory is not that good but I seem to remember that there are 2 paths once you've move deeper in the cave. One is at the middle of the screen and one to the right of the screen.

Try walking to the right of the screen while holding-using the glow stick.

Let me check to see if I still have the game installed and if I have a saved game close to that to reconnoiter the place for you.

Thanks for your help, but with patience I have figured out that you have to click on 'Use' when the glo-pal is in your inventory, rather than clicking on the cave. So now to my next huge problem............

I HATE slider puzzles, I have always found them impossible, even this 'easy' one for me is a nightmare. It's already driving me to distraction, and not being the brightest star in the sky, it's already got me stumped.

I know this is gonna sound silly, but is there anywhere I can get a sort of step by step guide to the puzzle ?? Or can anyone help me ?? Other puzzles usually no problem with patience, but sliders are one of my no go areas ha ha ha ha.

Bonnie, I can relate totally to your attitude on sliders, although this one wasn't as hard as some I've struggled through. Len Green has some step by step instructions, the only catch being that I think they start from the original position. So if you've already moved the tiles around, you might have to go back to a saved game to get the starting position. SPOILER
