Now I need help please.

I am in the cemetery. I can't leave because I need to look at the tomb. My key broke and the other keys don't work.

In inventory I have: walking stick, sharpening stone, crowbar, cemetery keys, broken Wyndham crypt key, candle, lamp.

I got stuck here a few nights ago and just got back to the game tonight. Went all over again and found the X key by accident which shows me all hot spots so I stood in various areas and used it and do not see anything that I missed.

I'm afraid you're going to tell me I have to load a prior save and pick up some inventory item that I missed.

Also, is there any way to stop the camera from continuing to move after I stop moving?

I am not sure about your last question in terms of stopping the camera.

You have a couple of things in your inventory that you can combine, and that should get you moving again.

How do you combine the inventory. I haven't been able to figure that out.

Never mind. I figured it out. I do have the booklet but...

Thanks Marian. Time for bed now though!

Glad you figured out the inventory combination. It wasn't intuitive to me either at first.

ARGH! pirate

I went to UHS hints but they don't have this game. I'm sure I'll probably have to go the walkthrough but maybe if I jibber jabber here for a minute, something will come to me.

I'm trying to do the rune alphabet puzzle so the witch can make me a potion. I start of course with the first things that sound right. Wrong! Try something else. Wrong! Each time I read the clues I find more answers that could be right. Try, try, try again. Wrong, wrong, wrong! I'm starting to read the clues all different with emphasis on different parts, going crazy, getting woozy . Have been resting in between but...

Do you have any tips before I go to the walkthrough?

Thanks!

I've looked around and the only walkthrough that gives what they call a "puzzle hint" about this reads as follows:

Quote:
The clues on the paper correspond to the runes that you need to draw.

Otherwise, I can't see what else I can say about it that wouldn't just be outright spoilers.

Yeah, that wasn't much help. We already know that!

I'm going to try again for awhile and see. (I've been playing some OTHER game for the past 2 hours. wink

Thanks Marian!

Steam? I don't see this game on Steam or anyplace else for download. I'm playing from a disc.

I tried this rune alphabet puzzle a little more and still didn't get anywhere. Decided to leave it for the time being and go elsewhere in the game but now am stuck at a drawbridge. Did I miss a clue somewhere about this puzzle? When I first clicked on it and it brought up a black square and I was clicking around on it with nothing happening and I couldn't back out of it, I thought it was my game acting up as I am having some video graphic problems with it, so I used control/alt/delete and did end task in task manager. Went back in and had the same problem but when I clicked around enough I finally saw what was happening and that I am supposed to click/space on some certain area I guess. I would have thought there'd been a clue somewhere but didn't see anything. duh

Then, the game DID start acting up so I got out. Internet being sketchy today too. Hope I have better luck with Caribbean Hideaway. I feel my day is being wasted with problems. lol

I am sorry that you are having issues with the game. Dead Reefs runs without issues on my Windows 7 computer - who knows why. duh

Hi Marian.

It has been playable in XP in short spurts so that's fine, but DID I miss a clue somewhere for that puzzle by the drawbridge? Or should I be able to see something on the paper? It is just black on my screen and I can make check marks I guess, here and there. After 3 check marks, I keep crumpling it up so apparently I am not putting them in the right place.

The game might play on my Win 7 if I change my screen resolution to 600x800 or whatever the game is. I don't want to change it in Win 7. I did it in XP though.

I ended up looking at the walkthrough for the rune puzzle and now I want to kick myself. I should have tried some more things. I only had one wrong.

When you get to the part about lowering the bridge, you read Master Tirrell's letter. To gain entry, Tirrell devised a puzzle to verify identity. It involves drawing three lines in a certain way on the paper. You are supposed to see a circle and seven little notations designating prisoners. If you do it wrong, Finvinero will crumple the paper.

If you could not see any of this, no wonder you were having trouble.

So Master Tirrell's letter is where? By the puzzle? The paper that I am drawing the lines on should have something visible to me?

If that's the case, yes, I may be in trouble!

The walkthrough says:

Quote:
Look close at the stand left of the raised bridge. Read Master Tirell's letter.

To gain entry, Tirrell devised a puzzle to verify identity.

Yeah, I looked at the walkthrough and tried to solve the puzzle from that but I cannot do it since I cannot see the circle and prisoners. I guess I will have to give up on this game for now. Maybe I will try in Win 7 if I decide I feel like messing up my whole desktop.

Was really looking forward to this replay but...

Many more games to play.

Thank you Marian.

Sorry about that, but at least there are more games to play.

So, guess what?

I found a video walkthrough and watched this puzzle being solved. I counted the clicks to where the check marks were made and was able to solve the puzzle, so I will be continuing on in the game (at least until/unless I run into another problem that I maybe won't be able to get past).

That's great. Hopefully there won't be something else like that popping up later on. Fingers crossed. wave
