I'll bet that some of those still exist somewhere somehow just for the fun of it. Weird stuff for sure but I remember most of them. Loved the Milk Man delivering to our back door!

My great grandfather was a lamplighter in London, England. Apparently he wasn't very good at it. Too many pubs along his route......lol

I guess I'm one of those "Older Than Dirt" types, because I do remember pin boys at the bowling alley, a long time ago. Also, my mom did switchboard work during WWII.

There are still a couple of old school tavern/bowling alleys in Milwaukee that have pin setters. The kind with only 2-6 lanes in the basement or backroom. In one they sit on a ledge right behind the pins and you can see their feet dangling down. Pretty funny. grin
