I am not sure what you mean, either about Big Fish being stingy about coupon codes (when they are extremely generous with them), and also about having to buy games you don't want. You would need to give me more information. wave

i had problems with princess isabellla the rise of a heir ce and dark tale the black cat ce, they gave you a coupon codes, now they do not, then i brought haunted hotel twin pack at walmart, and the coupon code for the third game is for games i do not like, i had to buy whisper stories the story of tideville, because the code only works on that one.

I have never seen a coupon code issued from Big Fish that wasn't good for any game of comparable value from their website, so that makes no sense to me.

But I do think you will enjoy Whispered Secrets: The Story of Tideville. I played that a few years ago and it was a nice game. smile

When I click on your link, I get a blank screen other than it saying Big Fish A New Game Every Day at the top of the screen.

Well, I don't understand why the coupon code they gave you will work on some games and not on others. I've never heard of such a thing. Sorry I can't be of more help.

This seems to be a code that came with a boxed version of a Big Fish game rather than one issued by Big Fish tech support or the code you are sent after buying 6 games (or 3 CE's).

Occasionally Big Fish has a sale where only games by a certain developer have a discount -- or only games with a certain theme are eligible for the discount. It's not too surprising that they'd put a code in a boxed version that is only good on a certain selection of games.

That makes sense, Jenny. Thank you.

I've never bought a boxed Big Fish game, so I had no idea what the deal was.

I doubt it's about money problems. As Jenny said, things are different with the boxed versions. How much did you pay for the boxed games, if you don't mind my asking? Were they cheaper than downloading from BFG site?

Well, that's a good deal at $5/game. Standard editions are $6.99 each for members on BFG site. Were the Haunted Hotel games standard editions?

So, you got 3 games for $9.99. If you buy games from the BFG website, you pay$6.99 each for standard versions (member price - unless there's a sale). Retail price (non-members) to download is $9.99 for a single standard edition. And you have to buy 6 standard games or 3 CE's to fill a punch card for a free game. I'd say you got a good deal on that twin pack. I don't fully understand the problems with the other coupon codes. I'm sorry that you're dissatisfied with Big Fish. I must say that I've been a member for a number of years and have bought hundreds of games. I've experienced very few problems and Big Fish has always solved or settled the problems to my satisfaction.

ETA: Besides, WalMart sets their own prices.

Buying a retail boxed version of a Big Fish game and buying a digital download directly from the Big Fish website are two different things. Most retail boxed versions of games don't offer any other game for free, so I really don't see any reason for complaint. Things are handled differently depending on the method of distribution, that's all. Now you know, and you can decide from here on out which way you would rather purchase something.

I believe there were two Blackbeard's Castle games and there are several in the Chimera series. I have played some Chimera games (which I enjoyed) but have not played Blackbeard's Castle or its sequel.
