Is there a floating status for this game? I'd like to be added to the list if there is. Does anyone know what the box or jewel case for this game looks like? Is this the hardest game to find or what???? What is a fair price to offer someone for this game if I ever come across anyone willing to part with it?

I guess you missed the information that stated that "floating games" are no longer allowed on GB's..... So, unfortunately, I don't think you could be added to a floater list....
As far as the game is concerned, it is a pretty rare game, being sold for at least $100, sometimes more....

I have seen Alice go for $200 on eBay. eek It is very rare. The box is bright red. Click Here

We ran into some problems with "floating" games and had to discontinue "floating", sorry. frown

Hello,
I may be wrong but wasn't Alice one of the games you were expecing in a trade from Alex from Russia? Have you gotten an up date from him concerning your trade?

Alex said he sent it, but I never received it. frown He said he didn't get my games either, but he did get the books. Doesn't make sense, but hey I don't know how the Russian postal system works. So he got the books and we both lost out on the games. What luck, huh...Well, no more trading with Russia for me. Can't afford them losing all my games. I will keep on looking, but surely not at the prices most people want... $200.00 or more!!!! eek

Catlee,

Did you buy Treasure hunter for $115? And Puppet motel for $199? Because there was somebody who bought Aim for $191 and the same person bought the other 2 I mentioned. I didn't know it was you. wink

WAAA HAHAHA -leaping out the window-! Puppet Motel for $199! I got mine for $40 (same hybrid version) and had to think about it for a long time. I did pay that kind of money before for rare games, but never over $200. Now I never pay anything above the MSRP. And Aim for $191!!! Actually I've never heard of this, still that much money for any game is too rich for my blood.

Cathy must be every seller's best friend and every bidder's worst nightmare laugh .

I guess Aim stands for Alice...duh

I paid $40 for my 3 Skulls of the toltecs with multilanguage box and manual and English game + a mint poster. I thought that was an awesome deal. laugh I did see Kilrathi saga go for $40 with box and extras. I am glad you were low on money when I bought Wing commander colectors edition. (No offence) I almost reached my max bid of $40, but beat you and than I realized I could have bought the game from their site for $35 instead of $38. But I think I bought one of the last Wing commander 3 collectors editions because I don't see anymore on ebay. 3 Skulls recently went for $225 and it was a sealed English version.

I have 10 of them now. I bout some for rainy day!!! happydance happydance happydance
When you see me bidding on some item, it mean i like to have. If i drop the bidding it is couse i am tired bidding, or i have to do something more important in the house. I just bid for fun, since i can`t even have time to play games. happydance happydance

Gameboomers used to allow floating of rare games that were unobtainable at a reasonable price. For example, $200 is not a reasonable price for a game when all you really want to do is play it once. $200 is for collectors of pop memorabilia.

To float a game, someone who owned the game would loan it out to people who wanted to play it. Those who wanted to play the game would add their names to the float list. Usually the loaned game was a CDR copy of the original because of the risk of losing an extremely rare game in the mail - expecially when some of the people on the float list lived overseas and the game had to pass through customs.

I bought "Wing Commander - The Kilrathi Saga" a year ago for about $300.00 US on Ebay.

And now you can begin to cry: Yes it's complete meaning it also has the calendar in mint condition.
hehehe

Catlee, you crack me up! lol What is your ebay ID? I only ask because I sure would never want to get in a bidding war with you! laugh

Are you serious or are you joking when you say you have 10 copies of WC Kilrathi Saga? Whichever the case, you made me laugh reading this thread. smile

LAKERZ,

sorry for been so late to hanswer. not very often i can relax at boomers site, to much to do and to little time in this life.

Back to your questions; e-mail me your ID for ebay and i will never bid if i see your ID. Infact, i never bid if i see any Boomers ID, not metter how bad i whant ot bid.
Before i bid in any item at Ebay, i allways look the ID, if someone bid allready.
I have 3 ID at ebay, I will give to you with no problem.
But remember, if i see a very, very, very, rare game at cost of over $250.00, i will buy know or bid for it unless you e-mail me to not do it. Than i will stop COLD.

To answer you othe question: i have only 3 kilrathi saga, not 10 ( i plan to buy more in the future. However, i do have 10 of wing commandere III, collector edition.
Also i have 2 whole wall with shelf, full of WING COMMANDER.
It is fun for me to bid, it is the only thing i enjoy doing, bid on games.
I don`t watch TV, movies, or lessen to the radio. I work hard and many hours. but some time i escape to the computer, for a whale.
Regards,
Cathy.

Wow, Sqrllover, what a discussion you started!! This is fascinating.

By the way, Coreoverload, I am PHudson and I haven't paid all that much for games (oh, a hundred here or there) and certainly not since the market down the drain... I do buy games to play and have made some great deals and have been taken as well. Paid about $60 for 3 Skulls and I received only the CD in a new, plain jc. Suspect strongly it was a copy, but I would not inspect it with my glasses on. Played and loved it, but will not sell or trade it.

AND, I not only bought The (infamous) Scroll, but Daughter of the Serpents as well. Same game, I'm thinking! So I am sure I buy on emotion rather than good sense, but isn't that what BAAGing is all about?

Great thread. lol
Peggy
