Do you use Norton, Ewil02?

Yes, I use Norton 360, and it allowed the file to be downloaded and installed through the Amazon client without any issues.

Hmmm... wonder if the download had the DRM removed.

Hahaha! Loved the last suggestion. But I'm "hooked" on playing games now! laugh Even do the sewing while watching some rerun of an old TV show. LOL laugh

Thanks for the tip. I don't have an account myself with Amazon. So what is this Amazon game installer client...?

If you have ever downloaded from Steam or GOG, it's the same idea with Amazon as far as the client - although I would say it is more bare bones and more simple. That's my feeling about it, anyway.

Thanks, Marian. I don't have an Amazon account though. Will I have to have one to download the game? I suppose I will have to pay again though...?

Yes, you will need to create an account. It's a very simple process, just like you need to create an account to use GOG or Steam.

And yes, you would have to pay for Lost Chronicles of Zerzura. The download is very inexpensive right now.

Thanks. As I asked someone else here - guess they didn't see the question - what is GOG?

GOG (which stands for good old games) is another place where you can download games - they have a very nice selection of the old and the new.

Here's the link to the website:

Oh, I didn't even know about this website. blush Thanks so much for letting me know. I take it that it's safe, no piracy issues or anything like that?

It's not only safe, it's arguably the best site out there for downloading games that have been tweaked for modern systems and are free of any kind of DRM.

So, have you considered just tell Norton to ignore this game/file and PLEASE install it for you? Lots of people have had to do that with other games it doesn't like.

Norton had gone "rogue," when it just removed the file without even asking. So I don't think it would pay any attention to my "requests" (pleading? LOL) So, like Marian, I guess I am going to put in on my own to-play-in-the-future list. I do have several such games "waiting" on the shelf, but I have played all the HO games. So right now I am waiting for the Big Fish's "delicious" 65%-off deals to get some more HO games. Funny thing is they did recently have just such a deal, and after a rather long time too, and on my very birthday! But I was too darn busy that day to avail it... :( Oh, well. It's the thought that counts, right? Even though they had no clue it *was* my birthday. laugh

No, if you TELL Norton in the "exceptions" option to ignore this game, it will and you can install it. Maybe someone who uses Norton can tell you how to do it.

I did find this at the Norton website.

Quote:

If you are certain that the file is good, then you can exclude the files or folders from being scanned.

Start Norton.

Click Settings.

Under Detailed Settings, click Antivirus.

On the Scans and Risks tab, scroll down to Exclusions / Low Risks.

Next to Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection row, click Configure.

In the Real Time Exclusions window, click Add Folders or Add Files.

Browse for and select the folders or files that you want to exclude from the scan, and then click OK.

Click Apply, and then click OK.
