Firefox is wanting me to update to Firefox Quantum browser. Is anyone here using this new browser and if so, what are your thoughts? I hesitate at change since new is not always better.

The old Firefox is plenty fast enough if you block the trackers that certain websites try to load up your browser with.

Any addons you have in your current Firefox won't work with Firefox Quantum -- including security-related addons.

There's a user review here
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/firefox-quantum/#reviews
He gives Firefox Quantum one star out of five (probably because zero stars wasn't an option) and says
Quote:
NONE of the add-ons I used in Firefox are compatible with Quantum. 30% faster, NO FUNCTIONALITY.

Maybe there will eventually be similar addons for Firefox Quantum -- or maybe not.

Same here as Inland... no issues. But then I hardly use any add-ons.

Thank you all for your answers. Firefox is very pushy about this update. The old browser has been hard to use without the update. I do not like that pushy approach, but I do not want to use IE and I am not really struck on Edge. So I will let the update install. The only add-ons I have is Webroot.

Hmmm... I have only gotten one notice about the update, not pushy at all. At least so far. I hate it when any software tries to foist their updates on me too. Edge seems to be a fine browser and quite speedy, but I just can't warm up to it either.

EDIT: I should have added that I only had one add-on that didn't work and that was the old FireFTP. The rest of the few that I use work just fine. It was important that my Roboform Password Manager work and it does. Privacy and security add-ons like Ghostery and Blur also work just fine as does WOT. I forgot - I did need to replace my legacy bookmark sorter with a different one. But I like the new one better anyway.
