You'd be kicked out of the hidden object scene without the necessary object and would never be able to get back into the scene again to get the object. Dead end. Even if you started the game over and replayed to that point, it was easy to accidentally click the prominent object and get kicked out even when you were going out of your way to try to avoid it. And of course the game didn't let you save before this hidden object scene. And Big Fish never fixed this obvious problem. Four years later, fresh download of the game, and the bug still happens.

Oh, wow! Sounds like a game I would *never* want to try. :( Thanks for the heads-up. smile Btw: did you ever report the problem to the tech support again, specifically pointing out that the bug is still there? They would need gamers to let them know, of course, that they did not fix it after all. smile

Many people reported that bug.

I think it's also worth mentioning at this juncture that Big Fish can report a bug to the developers, but it's up to the developers to fix it.

There is a potential game-stopper with an older Elefun game that hasn't been fixed to this day. It really surprises me that the developers did not provide an update to fix it.

Yes, I guess it would be more accurate to say "Big Fish never released a fixed version" than to blame them for not fixing it. Big Fish didn't make these unfixed games and probably doesn't have access to source code or other development tools that the developers used to make the game.

Yes, it's true that Big Fish can only report a bug, not fix it. Let us not forget, however, that it is Big Fish, not the developers, who then collect our money for continuing to sell the game. So it's really their responsibility to use whatever influence they may have left on the developers (who have probably already collected their possibly one-time payment - unless they also receive some kind of royalty or commissions for all sales) to ensure that the developers do deliver that required fix. In addition, recall my experience with Big Fish in trying to write a review for The Veil of Mystery: Seven Little Gnomes game. The game has been out for a few years now, and there are SO many complaints (people even cursing, literally!) on the Big Fish forum itself, yet the Big Fish didn't do anything to get the bug fixed. But what's more, when I tried to use the review to "warn" future gamers of these facts (that there are *fatal* bugs in the game which have never been fixed) to help people avoid the frustrations the rest of us have faced, Big Fish simply refused to post my review until and unless I took out any reference to those bugs! In other words, they are continuing to try to *profit* from that game and actively trying to *hide* any possible warnings from the "prospective buyers," even though they are well aware (surely after my attempted reviews now!) of the existence of those fatal bugs. :(

Zurreen, there is a technical thread on each game that is for reporting glitches and other bugs you are having. They aren't hiding anything. Anyone can check the complaints in that thread. Also, they have plenty of complaints in the reviews, they do not edit them out unless they are inappropriate. I can't say for your particular instance, but as you can see Here. they allow the complaints to be aired.

I think Zurreen was talking about the reviews on the ***page where the game is sold***, not the ones in the forum. To post a review on the page where the game is sold, you submit the review and then have to wait for approval before it appears. Approval of a review complete with technical complaints may depend on the person at Big Fish who approves it.

I see a few reviews mentioning technical problems for the game on the page the game is sold, but those are from 2013. Big Fish may have changed its policy about allowing reviews with technical complaints. Zurreen's review has a 2017 date.

So, did you get Lenore? If so, have you played it yet? How did you like it?

I did not get "Lenore". I didn't like "The Raven" and "Lenore" looked like more of the same.

Actually, it's not at all. The storyline is related, yes. In fact, if it weren't for some discrepancies, I would say Lenore is a prequel to The Raven. But Lenore is a lot better and, as far as I could tell, more like the old Dark Tales games we liked in the past. smile

I'll check the demo for "Lenore" next time Big Fish has a "Buy One Get One Free" sale.
I don't think much of their "50% off" sales that are actually only 28.6% off for members.

Everyday price of SE for non-members: 9.99
Everyday price of SE for members: 6.99

Price of SE during a 50% off sale = 4.99

Percentage off for non-members = 4.99 / 9.99 = 50%
Percentage off for members = 4.99 / 6.99 = 28.6%

They seem to be having one type of sale or another practically every day, I guess because of the Holidays. They might even have a 65% one soon. Sure hope so. I understand some good games were released on Thanksgiving, including a MCF.

Anyway, as we wait, you might want to check out my review on Lenore. Be sure to give me a Helpful vote, if you like it, okay? And now that you have seen so many of my reviews (I hope), please let me know what *is* it that you find helpful when you read a review. Thanks. smile

Oh, I forgot to tell you. You might want to get the CE for Lenore because, while the main game sets up the background for Alan and Lenore's relationship, etc., it is Lenore's Bonus Chapter that provides the transition to what we see at the beginning of The Raven. So you might not want to miss out on that. smile
