Got this game installed on my Win 10 but it isn't working properly. It freezes up and also will not give option to do things as in the hand, lips and third icon. I looked for a compatibility option in properties but didn't see this.. I have Win 7 and XP on my old computer and hoped to run it also using a KVM switch but Win 10 wasn't compatible. crazy

Hi Lotus, I have moved your post over to Glitches, where hopefully the techies will be able to provide you with some advice about this game and Windows 10. wave

Is this the disc version of the game?
If it is a download version you got from GOG or Steam, the game should work.

Well, this is embarrassing but I am not finding my pc specs in this Win 10. I definitely don't have XP or Vista on this computer. It's a Cyberpower Pc bought in April, I think. Has AMD FX (tm)-6300 Core Six Processor 3.50 GHz
16.0 GB RAM
64 bit OS, x64-based processor
It also has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

It is sadly, Win 10. I hope this helps as I had a great time finding that much... And I do appreciate you trying to help me.

You mentioned in your first post...
Quote:

Does that Windows XP/7 computer meet the system requirements for the game?

The problem with the disc version of the game on a Windows 10 computer with much newer video card may not be solvable. Even in the "Windows 7 and Games" thread the person testing had issues with video drivers and had to use different ones to get the game working.

Yup, found the same thing Jenny said. It's probably not so much Windows 10, but newer video card drivers.

Okay, and thank you very much. I will wait to see if they ever make Windows 10 and KVM switches compatible. I read how some IT's were able to make it work but it was beyond my comprehension and also with completely different setups. I do so appreciate your help and input.. Jenny100 and Draclvr!!

I don't understand why your Windows 10 computer would have problems with a KVM switch -- provided the KVM switch is in working order. But I've only used older KVM switches.

I'm not sure why a KVM wouldn't work with Windows 10 either... the only thing it's switching is a keyboard, mouse and monitor. I'll have to hook mine back up and see if it works sometime.

A little searching indicates that you may need to invest in a KVM switch with newer technology.

Mine was brand new in June. When I received it, the information that came with it stated simply that it was not compatible with Windows 10. I then sent it back and looked at others and they all said the same thing or it was said in reviews. A lot of businesses use them and they were stymied as well. Finally one post told how one very enterprising person had found a way around it. It was too deep for me. Please let me know if yours works. This has been a lengthy project to have three OS's hooked up to play different games. As I stated I am old school and love having the boxed editions and the chance to replay some of my favorites, hopefully.

EDIT: Just thinking maybe newer means post June?

I don't think so... The info I read was about old ones from the good old XP days.

What exactly happens when you try to toggle between the different monitors, keyboards and mouse?

I didn't try. I should have come here and gotten advice before sending it back so fast. My husband thought it rather strange too but I didn't want to maybe mess it up so it couldn't be returned....it was almost $150 and could support three computers...because you never know... If you think it should work..I will find the one i had purchased and send you a link.. I will have to save pennies again as I have other priorities right now. But if you say yes, I will do just that.
