With the sales BF had during Nov. I managed to accumulate 6 games. Now the little icon at the top of the BF page shows how many games you have/need to get a credit and then flashes, "only X number of games left to buy for a free game. Only what I learned when I held my pointer over that icon and read to the bottom of the drop down that it states only members only. If that's the case then that icon should not be on my page since I'm not a member.

There are times when I have not been a Game Club member. When I would hover my mouse over the punch card, it would say something like, for example, "Join Game Club before your sixth punch to get your free game," so it was clear to me that it was a Game Club benefit. I am sorry that you did not realize this, though, and can understand your disappointment.

Marian, it does not say that when I hover my pointer over the punch card; it only says, buy X number more games for a free game credit. I had to actually click on that icon and then read to the bottom of the drop down. The whole thing is misleading.
Probably what I'll do is join today and see if they then honor the game credit. If they do then good, but I will then also drop my membership in Dec.

Time to vent (a little). My gripe is about games that have morphs, collectibles, etc. I feel a person is stuck trying to find these, which takes a bit off of the game's enjoyability. I know you can just ignore these (and some developers (yah) let you go back at the end and find them. However, it is somewhat of a challenge to, at least to my mental faculties) to try to find them. Question: does this bother anyone else?

Thanks.

I'd like to apologize for using someone else's post. I made a mistake and tried to delete it, but wasn't allowed to. Thanks everyone for your replies.

Laurette, I agree about the morph objects; they or the collectables have nothing to do with a game that has a story line.

I happen to love morphing objects and other collectibles but I like the ones that let you go back and find them in case you missed one.

Fpr awhile I was not a member. The manager still showed punches as a way of trying to get me to rejoin. It worked.

I did rejoin and did get the game credit, but due to what I personally feel is not fair marketing practice (maybe I should say misleadig) I will un-member myself the first of the year. I will still buy games from them but only when on sale.
If I were to grade them overall, I'd give them somewhere between a B+ and an A-.

Just one more thing; I have trouble seeing hidden objects when they are in shadow form on a dark background.

I cancelled my membership very soon after joining Big Fish when I realised there was no way I would be buying a sufficient quantity of games per month to make it worthwhile.

Since then, I have just bought games as and when they took my fancy - and if via one of their sales, well a double bonus !!

And yet I have still somehow managed to acquire hundreds !!!! lol

That's what I realized to Mad; no way could or would I buy 6 games in one month. Thats when I dropped also.
So don't know how I managed 6 games in Nov other than had a bonus punch. One thing that was unsettling was when I tried a trial version, decided to buy it; when I hit the buy button it immediately opened a window thanking me for my purchase. Didn't even have a chance to put in the discount code. Did email BF; not sure if it was a game manager problem or not. They didn't know and did give a free game code. Well, guess one has to move on.

You get one game credit per month for the club. They don't expire.

If you buy one game per month it's usually worth it. Since the game credits you purchase with membership don't expire, you don't lose anything by not buying something every month. The credit you get from buying 6 games does expire in a couple of months, but not the 6.99 per month credit Big Fish charges for membership.

I've had that happen too. That was the last time I purchased anything through the Game Manager. You can log into Big Fish with your web browser and purchase through their website, which does have a place to input the code. After purchasing through their website you can activate the trial version to be the full version using the Game Manager. But you don't have to purchase using the Game Manager.

Most games do not give you anything back for looking for the morphing stuff other than a Status at the end game for having found them. Big deal, eh? ha ha However, in some games, finding the extraneous objects can open a new series of puzzle games at the end of the game. I recently played a New York Mysteries game, and if you found all the slides (like old slide-projector slides) in the game ~ and this was ridiculously easy because they were in your face in most scenes ~ the game provided a really fun set of a couple dozen prism puzzles at the end. I enjoyed playing those almost as much as I enjoyed the game. I did one each day, as a little added perk, long after I was done with the game itself.

If the morphs and extra objects are merely distraction, however, I completely agree: They don't add to the game, often are totally unrelated to the game context itself, and it breaks the story line for me to search for them, so I don't bother.
