Noticed the CE discount but out of curiosity I clicked on a game. Now as a member it showed the original price of 19.99. Interestingly, when I was a non member the price was also 19.99. I would never pay 20.00 for any game. Is this the correct amount for members and non members?

As far as today's sale goes, once you put a Collector's Edition in your shopping cart today (this sale is for Collector's Editions only), you then need to enter the discount code COLLECT into the box for discount codes and click apply. This takes the price down to $8.99. This should work for both members and non-members.

I presently belong to the Game Club and the retail price for CEs (without applying any sale codes) is $13.99; for non-members, full retail price is $19.99.

I haven't paid $13.99 for a Collector's Edition in years - the most I have paid for any for a couple of years now is $6.99; I just wait for that particularly good sale.

Thanks Marian, I too, won't buy a CE unless the price is way down. I just couldn't understand when I clicked on a game that it was showed the price as 19.99 instead of 13.99 as a member. Oh well, I know I won't be buying any CE anytime soon.

Were you logged in?
If you're a member, it should show $13.99.
If you're not logged in, it wouldn't know if you were a member or not.

The price has never changed. It has been 19.99 since the beginning so I think it's pretty cool inflation hasn't hit it. If you think of going to the movies for a couple hours and the price of games, they are a steal!

It's not necessary to spend more than $3.49 (sometimes even $2.99) on a Big Fish game as long as you wait for the SE.

Don't buy CE's. Wait until the SE is released. If you are interested in what happened in the bonus game of a CE, check it out on YouTube. In nearly all cases I've found bonus games to be disappointing and a chore to get through. Also I have no interest in "collecting" various objects and watching pop-ups and slide-ins block my view whenever I happen to click such an object. So for me the SE is a better version. Cheaper too.

Wait for a two-for-one sale, when you can use a single $6.99 monthly credit for two games. If you're not using a credit, a 65% off sale will give you a price of $3.49 for an SE.

Big Fish has a daily $2.99 sale on an SE game. If it's not one you have, and it looks like it might be interesting, check out the demo.

All good points and opinions. There are certain developers where I find the bonus game to be consistently worthwhile, such as 5-BN, and I want to play the bonus game rather than watch it on YouTube; in those cases I want the CE - but I don't feel this way with all games across the board.

What I do know is that it's nice to have so many choices and options.

Ana makes a good point when she says that the Big Fish prices have not changed, which is very nice indeed - because just about every other thing I can think of is more expensive now than it was a few years ago.

Yes. Credit is certainly due to Big Fish for not increasing the price of their games in all this while yes

Jenny100, I was logged in but noted the 19.99 was crossed out and 13.99 was there. I too think it's great they haven't raised costs.

Thanks for all the replies. I've learned something from each.

I know I'm stacking, but can I get a pass this time? whistle

Went on BF to buy a game with the discount and was charged the non member price. BF is not recognizing me as a member. It shows the member price below the non member price but to purchase, is entirely different amount.

The sale today with the discount code applied is $9.99 for Collector's Editions and $4.99 for standard-version games, for both non-members and members alike.

No worries about the stacking, as 2 days have passed since your last post. smile12

Oh gosh, I'm really confused; I thought member CE was 13.99 and SE was 6.99; where as the non member CE was 10.99 and SE 9.99. But the difference is if it states "members only", then what would the amount be.

Okay time to go eat more chocolate....want some? Home made fudge...

Without using today's discount code, CEs for members would indeed be $13.99 and SEs $6.99.

For non-members who did not use the discount code, CEs would be $19.99 and SEs $9.99.

Today's sale isn't all that great for Club members, but it's of course better than nothing!

Homemade fudge sounds great. I already passed up cheesecake in the grocery store today and walked right on past See's Candies, and am now kind of wishing that I hadn't. lol12

On a slightly different topic, is anyone else having trouble downloading and launching a BF game today? I've been trying for the past half hour. I tried to download three games, to check out the Demos. I got two games to download without any apparent trouble as they both showed up on my HD, but the third game I was downloading failed to download (It gave me some kind of "Failed" message whose exact text I forgot). Thought I had run into some kind of glitch, so I canceled that third game.

Then I tried to launch one of the two games that had installed. It would not start. So, I tried the other one. It would not start, either.

At that point, I uninstalled both of them, thinking whatever glitched the third game also cursed the first two. Then, I tried to download them again. Neither would begin the download procedure at all.

Never had this happen before. Could it be due to high traffic volume on the site? Too many people jumping on the sale?

Hi Reenie, I hadn't downloaded anything from Big Fish today - after reading your message, I decided to test it.

I downloaded the demo of the new Witches' Legacy game (today's release) and the downloading, installation, and running of the game went without a hitch. I wish I had a good explanation for your difficulties.

Thanks, Marion. I may try uninstalling my Big Fish Game App and letting it reinstall itself, just to start over with a totally clean slate.

It can't hurt to try, and I hope something simple like that will fix it.

I had a problem yesterday.. I signed out of Big Fish both on the app and on their site and then logged in again and I was able to download. Hope this helps you.

Thanks, Mad. I think I am having HD problems. I did finally get the two game Demos reinstalled and they worked, but my computer is running as slooooooow as a dying snail. Darn. Guess it is time to get the pros to look at it for me.
