It seems that this games' developers think that all average adventure game players have to have a suped up system to play this game. I have been able to play all new adv. games with my system, but this game thinks my system can't play them. The Black Mirror games have been some of my favorites. Now it looks like I'm going to have to watch the game in a gameplay WT which I basically reserve for keyboard control games ( I usually wind up all over the place). Looks like I'll at least have a really good horror movie to watch (sigh). I consider this ridiculous as I've bee able to play any of the new adv games I've been interested in playing. Oh well goodbye Black Mirror It's been a really fun gaming ride.

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (strike one against me.
2 gig memory (strike 2)
AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 Processor, 3315 Mhz, 3 Core(s), 3 Logical Processor(s)(strike 3)
GeForce 9500 GS graphics card (strike 4)

I consider this once again totally absurd as I've been able to any adv game I wanted. I don't feel at this time I need a new system or upgrade (can't afford anyway). I only play adv games I don't play RPG or FPS action games.

Well, Barry, as it turns out, this game uses either a gamepad or keyboard-mouse combination for the control scheme, so in all likelihood you would have ended up watching the playthrough on YouTube whether your system could run the game or not.

Apparently the game has its merits, but many people are very disappointed that the game is not point and click like the other Black Mirror games.

I find that interesting Marian as everything I've read about it say it's a 3rd person point and click.

Check out the reviews of the game here (the fifth paragraph in particular) and here.

Some people don't know what "point-and-click" means and think any adventure game is a "point-and-click" even if it uses gamepad or keyboard controls.

The older Black Mirror games were point-and-click but the 2017 "reboot" certainly isn't.

Either way I probably would have given it a shot as I really liked the Black Mirror games and horror games in general. Believe me Jenny I've been playing games for years going back to the Dos days and I do know what a point and click game is. My main complaint dealt with those insane specs. I can see it for RPG and FPS games but definitely not necessary for adv's. I hope the game is returnable for refund as I couldn't even get the game to install. I've been able to play any adv games I felt like with my system and I feel those specs are way out of line and unnecessary.

Regards,

Barry

It's worth noting that the game was also released for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. When I see that a PC adventure game is simultaneously being released for consoles, that generally means that the control scheme is not going to be to my liking and that I need to read about the game carefully first to see what exactly this will entail. Syberia 3, anyone?

That's another one that I'm going to be using a video WT for. Is it worth my time to watch it Marian or haven't you played it? The reviews I saw weren't that great. I find that most games today are available for all platforms but for the most part the PC versions have been point and click.

I haven't played it, Barry - after reading about it and hearing about it, my interest level dropped considerably - but maybe you will feel differently about it.

Syberia 3 ends on a stinking cliffhanger.

Even without the cliffhanger, the story wasn't as good as the previous games.
The control system wasn't the only problem with it.

If you're still interested in the story, watch a YouTube playthrough.
Just don't expect a complete game with a satisfying ending.

I actually don't think so Marian after reading a bunch of reviews also. Short of the music and artwork they all gave the game bad reviews.

Did you even bother to read the system requirements for the game before going any further ? Personally , I found the system requirements to be rather tame . Granted , adventure games don't normally require a ton of gpu & cpu "muscle" , but perhaps a bit of research would've been prudent beforehand .
