Replaying in XP.

I am at Red Velvet. Just gave owner Paul's business card. He will be writing a review of the entertainment. Then I spoke to Abigail and she gave me the name "Silk" who is an illustrator.

I cannot seem to leave this location. I don't know if this is a glitch or if I am missing doing something. I cannot access an exit area or even right click for my map. I can get to the menu if it's a glitch to replay and try again but thought I'd ask first.

Am I missing something or should I be able to exit somewhere?

Thanks!

I believe that this is where you are in the walkthrough:

Quote:
Backstage - Go to the alley and ring the bell. If no one answers, go to the front lobby door and knock on that door and then comeback to the backstage door. Then once again, knock and then ring bell. Give the calling card to the manager. He lets you in to talk to Abi.

Go to the stage and see Abi rehearsing. Talk to her about everything. Silk is the name of the illustrator.

Police Station:

As you can see, the walkthrough doesn't say anything about how you get to the police station from Red Chapel. And unfortunately, I don't remember what the deal is. It seems like you ought to be able to use the map, but I am of course not sure about that either.

OK, thanks for taking a look Marian.

I'll look around again and if I still can't find the exit, I'll reload and try again.

Well, maybe the game needed a rest. lol I clicked on Abigail and she repeated her last sentence and then I was able to right click and get the map.

Now I'm stuck trying to make day 2 end. I've gotten out of the game though for the night. Hopefully next time I go in, it will work.

Don't want you to feel left out Marian so I went back in this game tonight but still cannot get day 2 to end. I don't know what I'm missing or what I might have messed up.

Are you in Day 2 Nighttime now? That's how the walkthrough labels it.

This is one of those games where if you do things in the "wrong" order, the game may not progress because one of the triggers didn't work properly.
You might have to replay from the beginning of Day 2.

I do have a save for Day 3 -- and there are saves available from nicouzouf.com
http://www.nicouzouf.com/en/?page=list&alpha=j

I think you'd miss the cut scene at the beginning of the chapter if you used the save. But perhaps you could watch it on YouTube in 123pazu's playthrough

Thank you for that very helpful information, Jenny - I was hoping this wasn't one of those games where if you do something in the "wrong" order, the game would not cooperate.

I don't remember that happening to me when I played the game years ago, but it's quite possible that I relied more heavily on the walkthrough.

Hi, oldbroad!

I made some notes while I was playing, so here's what I wrote down for Day 2.

DAY 2 (NIGHTTIME)

Click to reveal..
• read note on Bur’s door confirming that Silk will meet you in Bur’s office tomorrow morning
• travel to the Red Chapel

Red Chapel

Click to reveal..
• bum immediately appears
• exhaust all conversation topics
• learn Lizzie delivered for a laundry
• examine calendar in window of laundry across the street from the Red Chapel
• go down alley to right of laundry and through gate, but mean looking guy is blocking door
• enter theater
• Paul is there and will write a rave review
• listen to Abi’s song
• travel to the Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet

Click to reveal..
• notice that a man is putting something up on the poster wall on left and there’s a hatbox on the ground beside him
• enter Blue Velvet
• man who was putting up sign walks in carrying hatbox and disappears behind curtain
• return to poster wall outside
• read CARD advertising for delivery person at Laundry Wang
• take CARD
• return to Red Chapel

Red Chapel

Click to reveal..
• return to back alley of Chinese laundry and man is gone
• examine door and notice two symbols are needed to open it
• read CARD in inventory and notice dragon symbol
• remember dragon symbol on calendar in laundry window
• turn lock on left until dragon symbol appears on top
• turn lock on right until you hear a click
• enter through door and see man who was blocking your way earlier
• you tell him that you’re applying for a job
• ouch!
• Day 2 ends

I hope this helps but, if not, I can post my notes for Day 2 daytime to see if you missed something!

Susan

Thanks so much for your help, Susan. I added spoiler tags so that oldbroad can see as much or as little as she needs to. wave12

I don't remember the game being a problem the first time I played it, but I guess I will first try replaying from a prior save.

Thanks Marian, Jenny, and Susan!!

I replayed Day 2 and am still stuck trying to end it. To answer your earlier question Marian, yes, this is Day 2 Nightime. I guess it's time to look at the walkthrough or maybe behind the spoiler tags you put in Susan's post. I'm disappointed. duh12

Yes, that is disappointing. I wonder what's preventing the transition to day 3.

Well, I looked at Susan's postings since she was nice enough to put all that information here and what I was missing was the person with the hat box putting up a poster outside of the Blue Velvet. I wish I could say he just had never been there but I know he did come into the Blue Velvet while I was in there even though I never saw the hat box. I just missed it as is usual for me. blush

Thanks Susie 07 and Marian!

Hi, oldbroad!

You're very welcome, and I'm glad I was able to help. Enjoy the rest of the game. It was one of my favorites!

Finished the game today. Did end up peeking at the walkthrough 2 more times I think. I always seem to miss something.

I think that's pretty much true of all of us in terms of missing something.

Congrats on finishing the game. reindeer
