Hi,

I would like to thank you all in the Gameboomers community for the amazing support that our game (A Quiet Weekend in Capri) have received in the past few months. Without your support we couldn't have made it up to this point: the game will be available in the US stores very soon!! laugh

Also, I would like to thank Got Game for sustaining and believing in the Adventure Games genre (unlike a well known company did in the past few days evil )

Thanks Marita! wave

I can't find the words to describe one of the happiest moment a while ago, when I was browsing this forum (it was last summer and the game was recently released in Italy)

It was so great seeing so many Gameboomers enthusiastic about Capri - that really strengthened our motivation to keep working on adventure games!

I am very glad to hear that!

We are currently working on the possibility of making the game available outside the US. It might take a little bit of time.... duh

A the moment, for gamers outside the US, the game is only available on line. E.g. Got game ships outside the US.

Or you could visit the actual island of Capri and buy it there! There is a bookstore in Capri that sells the game and the bookstore itself appears in the game! lol

Hi Silvio

Its great to see you on the board...Quiet W/E is one of my all time favourites. I was lucky enough to speak to your dad on the cell phone when I came to Capri last September, unfortunately we didn't get to meet.

Please hurry with Anacapri...and Please..Please..Please dont change it..it was so beautifully done.

Thanks to all again!
as for Anacapri, no worries!
The graphical interface will be very similar (although it will be improved). We are really convinced that the navigation must be as simple, immersing and fluid as possible.
(no mouse movements as in URU - we don't think that so much flexibility ultimately benefits the gamer).

It's the first one, only with some modifications. For example the GotGame version is supposed to have speech in English or Italian (your choice) and not just speech in Italian with English subtitles. You also get a bonus soundtrack CD.

The GotGame release is the first official North American release.

Exactly, as Jenny mentioned in the previous message, here is the situation:

* A quiet Weekend in Capri - March 2004, Got Game:
in English or italian with English subtitles + bonus soundtrack CD (this release is an improved version of the Oxiana's release - see below)

* A quiet Weekend in Capri - May 2003, Oxiana release:
in Italian with English subtitles
(this is what people have been played so far)

* Anacapri (tentative title) - to be released in 2005 (hopefully!)

Have a great weekend!

Everything about this game and its developers is first class. Gey Savarese worked with me so patiently for a week trying to get it to work on my pc. Somehow I had a corrupted Windows Media Player, wasn't the games fault at all but he hung in there.

Hi Silvio,

I have just ordered the game on the strength of what I have been reading about it, but you should know that the website was not easy to find through search engines. I had to trace it from a review on here!

For you others, at 22 Euros (including shipping worldwide for an initial period) online, why wait for it to hit the shops?

By the way, Silvio my wife and I have fallen in love with Italy after a couple of visits last year and are now learning Italian via Linguaphone on our computer!

Not yet, but may well make it later this year as part of a trip to Amalfi coast and/or Pompeii etc.

Lex, you'll love Pompeii. I had wanted to go there my whole life and I was not disapointed. Just a fasinating place, enjoy!!

Silvio, all I keep thinking is how long did it take to take all those photographs? How many rolls of film and how many photographers? Just a fantastic job!!

Hi Silvio....
It isn't often that I have the opportunity to thank the creator of a game that I have fallen in love with...thank you for this truly magical trip to paradise! laugh
As I said in another post in the "help" forum--I feel a sadness when I quit the game and all of a sudden I am looking at my desktop instead of Capri. I'm going to keep this game installed on my HD..it's wonderful to know I can return anytime I feel like it. happydance

When I first installed the game. The island is so beautiful that I just strolled through the whole island without playing and when I think I seen everything, I started to play the game....

Wonderful game, enjoyed very much..Got lost a lot but enjoyed getting lost in paradise...

Great game, very well done...

Can't wait for the next one...

Silvio,

I sent an email to you guys but got no response, so I will ask my question here. I bought the original release of Capri, and I want the newer version with English speech. Is there an upgrade path for previous buyers to get the new version at a reduced price? If not, there should be.

BTW, the one I bought also came with a soundtrack CD.

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
this is a good question. We are discussing this possibility with the publisher. We should be able to get back to you with an answer in a couple of days. wave

I just finished the game and I loved it. The scenery was gorgeous. Capri sure is a beautiful place.
Now that I've finished the game, I'm going back to see if I missed any of the beautiful scenery.
Thanks for a great game and thanks to Mag for a excellent walkthrough.
Looking forward to Anacapri. smile
