There are several movies I'm looking for but since Hastings closed it's become almost a dead end. I've found a couple per Walmart, but I'd be charged for shipping unless the order is over 35, and the local store won't order them. Are there any legitimate movies/dvd outlets?

thanks

Thanks Geo; noticed prices are pretty high, so will wait till after the holidays. Both sites have a few of the movies I'm looking for, though I didn't check my long list with them. Some are older movies.

Ebay.com also has movies but its highly likely they are used, so you have to pay close attention to the condition.

If you just want to watch them have you tried your local library? You can rent them for free in any library here.

Geo, noticed while checking Amazon they had the used movies but said they may be scratched or even blank, and the new ones were over $20. Haven't used Ebay for a long time and don't like paypal taking control of all the sales.

Thanks Gerry, I've been able to find many through the library, but do like to have some on hand since I don't mind watching them again at a later date. Also have checked many, many out the are severely scratched and dirty. I clean them but still doesn't make for pleasant viewing or no viewing at all.

I'll keep checking the nearest Walmart and Shopko, and like I said will recheck after the holidays.

Thanks much for all the replies.

One movie that I just can't find for example is Green Mansions and others during that era.

Is this the one you are looking for:

Never mind - I deleted the link because it went to MY amazon account.

Amazon has it for $14.99 new. (Green Mansions) Try going: Movies & TV/Studio Specials/ MGM Home Entertainment/ All MGM Titles

I've had very good luck with Ebay. Sometimes Amazon but Ebay is usually cheaper. Got a lot of the 'older' ones. Just have to read carefully on the descriptions.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

oldbroad, no worries on links. Amazon does not link to your account, only for you since you are logged in.

Yes Ana, it went directly to MY account because I was signed in. I tested it after I posted it. I have had trouble with Amazon before like this. It does not always sign you out properly

I'm saying it ONLY does that for you. If someone else clicks on the link, it will not take them to your account, only the item page. I have your link, because I have the original post. None of your info is included in the link, just the item link. YOu do not need to worry about someone getting access to your account if you forward a link.

Sorry, I do not trust Amazon anymore! Don't want the link posted here.

That's fine oldbroad, you don't need to post the link, but I can assure you that there is no way someone can access your account even if you forward a link while you have your account open.

Not to beat a dead horse, but to reinforce what Ana was explaining oldbroad.

What you are experiencing is only specific to your computer because of a function that is used on many website with logins called a Persistent Login and sometimes use a tool called a persistent cookie. Both are functions that can only occur on the person's computer who logged into the respective account. In many websites, that function is activated when you check a box that says something to the effect of "Remember Me." Amazon's Persistent Login function is different and strictly regulated.

Your account information is stored, temporarily and only your browser will access it. Some such features have an expiration date attached so they no longer have your account information stored after a certain period of time.

Amazon's persistent login is very specific and separates certain identifiers from those that would be normally considered secure. It will allow you to access your account without needing to login, but only for a short period of time. After that time expires, if you haven't cleared your caches and/or cookies, you will still have a personalized experience the next time you open the Amazon site.

It will say something like, "John Smith's Amazon" BUT if you try to access your orders or more depthy information it will require a password.

Secure information cannot be transferred through the normal means of copy/pasting an item link.

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

I get all that Trail and thank you for additional information, however, I still don't trust it. Too many problems with Amazon lately and don't want to get lax about my security.

Tcm.com has one of the largest selections I know of. They have free shipping once in a while if you're not in a hurry, but you may need to be on their mailing list to get it.

Not sure about that one Albert, it's all in Japanese.

I think Albert is talking about the Turner Classic Movies website here. They have Green Mansions, too.

And yes, nice to see you posting, Albert. happydance12

How did you get Japanese? I got the same link Marian got when I typed it in.
