I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.

Here are some funny resume mistakes:

“Here are my qualifications for you to overlook.”

“Work Experience: Dealing with customers’ conflicts that arouse.”

“Develop and recommend an annual operating expense fudget.”

“I’m a rabid typist.”

“Instrumental in ruining entire operation for a Midwest chain operation.”
Reasons for Leaving your Previous Job:

“Responsibility makes me nervous.”

“They insisted that all employees get to work by 8:45 every morning. Couldn’t work under those conditions.”

“Note: Please don’t misconstrue my 14 jobs as ‘job-hopping’. I have never quit a job.”

“Was met with a string of broken promises and lies, as well as cockroaches.”

“I was working for my mom until she decided to move.”

“The company made me a scapegoat – just like my three previous employers.”

A first grade teacher collected well known proverbs. For a quiz, she gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.

It’s hard to believe these were actually done by first grade kids (6 or 7 year-olds)!

Is the weekend here yet? happydance

I'm looking at 3 frigid days coming up, where I probably won't even get out of the house, except MAYBE to take Missy to the park, but when we went today, we didn't get a quarter way around it before she wanted me to carry her. slapforehead

I did make a trip to Walmart today, and then to the car wash, and then back home to put the goods away, and then vacuum out my truck. thumbsup

Got a lot of house cleaning to do this week, since it looks like I'm not going to be able to put it off until Spring, when you're supposed to do all that cleaning do do. blech

Missy may get to see her first snow tomorrow, IF it snows tonight. They're saying maybe an inch if it. Woo Hoo! happydance12

Have a happy day everyone. yes

Slept in my clothes so I could jump up early to grab that kitten to be spayed. Have to be there IN line at 7:30 and am on 'standby' hoping someone cancels. Got a call last night for reminder and she didn't say standby this time. Crossing fingers we get this done.

Went out way early (no cats awake) and the kitten happily came out to greet me. Darn. I feel so awful now. Grabbed her, stuffed her in the cat carrier I've been encouraging her to play in (dragging fake mousies in and out) and she was fine until she realized she was going IN. Struggled a bit but didn't try to scratch or bite thank goodness. Now comes the whole day ordeal and I'm hoping for the best. Stress isn't good for ferals (although she's half tamed now) and being with dogs and cats and people she doesn't know (always me and my neighbor and very quiet) might make her totally scared. Just the car ride is going to be a challenge.

She's on a nice cat smelly blanket with another one covering the carrier so she can't see out. I'm a wreck! But it's either this now or she gets pregnant and I have MORE ferals. Not letting that happen.

Wish me, and her, LUCK! blackkitty

Well, that was fun. Got to the Neuter Scooter at 7:15. Found out they had already been checking in pets since 7:00 even though they told me 7:30. I was still on standby status. Lots of people with loads of dogs and cats. They take them in one at a time to 'evaluate' them. The look to see if they are male/female and if they are already spayed or neutered (for strays). One lucky man had two cats and both of them were already neutered. Nice. He got go right home. One BIG dog got rejected because they just couldn't handle him. He wasn't aggressive, but wouldn't behave. They refused him.

I had to wait till almost all had checked in and there were about 6 of us left. Got called, handed my cat in carrier to the gal inside. Next thing I know, the CAT is throwing itself against the glass door of the bus!!!! Yep, it was loose in there, scared to death and I just had to wait. So finally a tall gal comes out, asks if the cat was a feral, and I had already told them it was half tamed. I had no problem picking her up and getting her into the carrier this morning. So the gal holds up both arms and yells at me, "THIS is what your cat did to me!" She was really mad. I could see why. Both arms and hands had deep bleeding wounds. Sigh. Didn't want that to happen.

My question is now, WHY did they just rip her out of the carrier without gloves? Poor thing must have been terrified of someone new and all the noise of the other pets. She was very quiet all the hour she was in the carrier for me. Other gal who checks everyone in said that this happens occasionally and not to worry. I feel bad that this other one has wounds ala my cat. So embarrassed that I got yelled at in front of all the other 'parents'.

I apologized again to the ladies at the table and hopefully there will still be a live cat when I go back this afternoon. I have no idea what might happen. Poor thing scared out of its mind, very unhappy vet or helper lady and it's going to be a long morning waiting to see if all got done and if I still have a cat. WHAT a day!!!

Back home with one spayed kitten. Hooray! I went up to the check in gal and asked if she was still alive after this morning's fiasco. She laughed and said she's fine, everything went well and not to worry about the gouges on the other gal. She said her name was KAT. Ha. I should name the kitten KAT in her honor. Found out by reading the sign that she was a 'vet assistant'. Not sure what her training is but I feel bad she got injured by this little sweet kitten. Not evil cat, just scared at all the hubbub. OH and when I got up to the head of the pick up line, I told the girl handing out the cats that my cat was the 'devil cat'. She laughed and laughed. Made me feel better. Didn't see KAT though. Maybe she's in intensive care?

Now I wait for the sleepies to wear off. Soon she will be OK. Actually cried for the first time today when she saw her brother through the screen door. She tried to climb out of the carrier, but I have to keep her in for several hours. Gave her some slurpy food which I'm sure the will want when she's awake enough.

Trials and tribulations over for now, I hope. catrub
