I would use MaG's walkthrough for the game here. GameBoomers has another walkthrough as well, which you can find here. It's nice to have more than one walkthrough to refer to at times.

The walkthrough states that the save game/load game feature does not work in the introductory and end-game sequences.

I believe the saved games are in your "documents" folder. Doesn't the saved game come up when you click on "load"?

Someone had a workaround for not being able to see the saves in the Steam forum

I am not sure why you can't see the top button, unless there's something else you need to have done first before you are able to proceed with this part.

Maybe someone else will have more ideas.

When you are on the first floor, the walkthrough states:

Quote:
To access the stairs to the second floor or the third floor from the flight below, the back must be on room A and facing room B.

Can't seem to make it through Trial 1. Looked at walkthrough, but the colors swirl. Do I click on just the colors or is there a sequence to the symbols?

I found this information in a walkthrough:

Quote:
Trial One. As you step forwards, four colored panels appear. Press the symbols to repeat the sequence you noted in George's journal and saw on the bedspread in Room 1A.
