I'm stuck at Nils house door. I'm supposed to use the door code I got to press the buttons in the order the clue said, but the in-game clue says one thing while the paper I got says another - and the red light beeps something entirely different from either of them. I have tried all of them with no result. The red light doesn't stay lit so I can't pres the red button to let me in the house.

Melia, take a look at this thread - that will provide you with a link to the video walkthrough.

Thank you. I'm moving again. I still can't figure out how it was done, though.

The numbers on the note represents beeps. So for example, the first number on the note is 3. That means that the first button you should press, is whatever button beeps three times, and so on. It's not easy to explain, and as you can see on the video, I didn't remember it myself, so I looked in the journal. lol

What stopped me for a minute with this puzzle was not knowing to press the red button at the bottom inbetween each of the others.

Hmm, you don't have to do that. The red one should only be pressed after all the others. Good thing it didn't reset by pressing the red one. smile

Well, doing that was apparently how I got it to work. I did the same sequence without doing that and it didn't work. headscratch

Maybe I will go back in and try it again and see what happens.

At least it worked. smile
I think it was 01:17:00 in my video, where I do it without doing how you did it. I wish I had a save nearby, but they were in an earlier version. I am very curious now though. lol

Both solutions work, since pressing the red button in between the other buttons doesn't affect anything. But that obviously isn't necessary. This is the puzzle I get the most questions about. I'm quite satisfied with it though, since varying code lock puzzles isn't easy.

Well thanks for clarifying that Mikael. Glad to know we're both right RebKean! I still might go back in and try it again because I'd swear it did NOT work when I pressed the same sequence without the red button in between.

Well, worked both ways for me this time. Of course, then I accidently overwrote my save and had to replay part of the game so I could re-save there.

Hi Leeana, let's wait for a player of the game who can assist you in finding the paintbrush.

I think it's in Carol's bedroom by the easel but I may not be remembering right.

The paintbrush is in the game/computer room. It's in a glass on the desk to the right after entering. (I think)

It's not easy when you get a very specific question like that. I should know all these games by heart, but I still get confused and need to check. The reason I was fairly sure about this one, is of course that I played it several times very recently. But I was still uncertain lol.
