Finally a good day for fixing things. For weeks, my lovely gooseneck wall mounted kitchen faucet has been spraying water UP from the bottom of the faucet. I knew it was probably some washer or other, but just delayed until I couldn't stand the gusher. I bought it in 2003 to replace the 'original' 1944 one and ordered it from ebay. Some strange, but awesome brand that I'd never heard of.

Today, I went to my shed, found the OTHER faucet that the company had sent me when I had a ceramic cartridge handle thingy break in 2006. I couldn't find a duplicate anywhere, the plumber I called had no idea how to fix it and almost ruined it and my sink trying to fix it like a total nutcase, but after calling the company they said they would send a new cartridge. Well they sent an entire NEW faucet. I replaced the offending faucet handle and saved the brand new whole assembly for just today. Yep, without even turning off the water, I unscrewed the gooseneck, replaced it with the new one and everything is great! Took less than 15 minutes. It was a disintegrated washer as I thought and I'll just save rest of the assembly for the 'next' emergency and get a new washer for it. Everything working great, loved having the 'parts' on hand and all is right with the world. joy
