Just finished this one.
It didn't seem like an MCF game.
It seemed like a much older game (by a different developer) that they tried to update a bit and then pass off as an MCF. Hard to believe it came from Eipix.

Boring old prom night gone bad story. Seen that one before.
Boring environments.
Usually I don't mind "dated" graphics, but this was just dull and prefab-looking.
Eipix usually has graphics that are more interesting to look at, including those in their much older games.

The puzzles that involved click-and-drag kept dropping the thing I was supposed to drag.
Not sure why that was. It doesn't usually happen in other games.

Most puzzles were way too easy. A few good ones, a few execrable dexterity-dependant minigames, but mostly just too easy.

I'm glad I didn't pay for a CE.
Even getting the SE when it was on sale I didn't think it was worth the price.

Full of slide-ins, pop-ups, and banners announcing "Tasks" (thought I turned those off in the options)

This will be the last MCF game I buy without playing the entire demo, as opposed to only playing it long enough to see if it starts.

I know Eipix can do better.

I see there was more written about it in the CE announcement and I'm not the only one who was disappointed in it.

This is the only MCF I don't own. I haven't heard anything about it to make me want to spend the money. It's a shame, because it was the only casuals I still play.

Started playing the previous one, Black Veil, to compare them. The only advantage of Revenant's Hunt is that it doesn't crash as much. Black Veil had a tendency to crash during puzzles that had animations. Revenant's Hunt has several of the exact same puzzles as Black Veil. frown

I know what you mean.

It's not that we need more Ravenhearst-themed games, but we need something that was as exciting as Ravenhearst was 10 years ago.

And they need to get rid of all those pop-ups, slide-ins, banners, and other junk that interrupts the game, and kills any hope of immersiveness -- telling you where to go and what to do and congratulating you for nothing like you were a needy 2-year-old. And this was in the SE of Revenant's Hunt -- imagine how much of that garbage was in the CE.

So disappointing.

They were certainly exciting! They are no longer set apart from other casuals. I wonder if they realize this and will try and go back to what made it great.
