Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since I have been on this site. I just started playing adventure games again after a few years off. I am at the beginning of the game and cannot get Frank to pick up the keys and go back upstairs before Laura catches him. I have tried this dozens of times and am just not fast enough apparently. Is there something special I have to do? I know this is an old game, I hope someone can help me. Thank you, Eileen

I googled this problem and found a few walkthroughs for it, and I also noted a number of people saying that they couldn't seem to get the keys and get back upstairs fast enough.

One person who made it through this sequence said the following:

Quote:
Okay, have Frank waiting at the top of the stairs....switch to Joe to ring the doorbell...switch back to Frank, grab the keys and then click on the wall on the side of the stairs where you see the footprints...that will do it....

Apparently you need to do this in approximately 12 seconds or less.

If I find any more advice about this, I will let you know. I know that this sort of thing can get quite frustrating.

There's a video walkthrough of the sequence here. The guy doing the walkthrough is too slow the first time and doesn't make it; his failed attempt starts at 2:53. His second attempt in the video is successful (although I don't see any real difference between the two sequences).
