Hi.

I went to Add-Ons in Firefox and enabled the Google Translator.
[It now has a green tick next to it.]

But when I go to a website, highlight some text and do a right mouse click, the "translate" facility doesn't show.
So in my usual hopeless techie-ness I'm obviously doing something wrong !!

Can anyone please offer help ??

[I'm trying to translate a walkthrough from Dutch to English.]

Thanks.

Mad blush

Let's see if I can try to muddle through. Although it's easy, I had the hardest time at first!

I don't highlight anything, I just tell Google Translate to translate the entire page. I think you click on the Translate add-on at the top and then there are some options?

My walkthroughs for that website are automatically translated to English, so I can't recreate it. I'll try another one.

Yay, I was right! I went to the Wildpark Schweinfurt website, clicked on the translate addon at the top and one of the options was "translate the page." Voila!

I don't see a translate button I ADDED "To Google Translate by Juan Escobar" an I have to right click and it only gives me what I highlight

That's what I added Winfrey, "Google Translate by Juan Escobar", but when I highlight a bit of text on the site walkthrough and right click, a "translate" option doesn't show up ....

[I don't think what you describe can be via Firefox, Draclvr ?? I don't see a "translate" button at all either.]

I don't use any add-on.
I go to https://translate.google.com/

It used to work to translate entire webpages by typing in the URL, but rarely works that way any more.
I think it only works on simple text webpages.

Usually I have to copy chunks of the walkthrough, use the translator, then paste the translation into a Word file. It can easily take over an hour, especially if there are pictures I want to copy.

Even back when it worked, it would only translate only part of long webpages, and the rest would be in the original language.

There is an add-on at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/to-google-translate/

but as far as I know it has the same weaknesses as translate.google.com

OK. I've installed Chrome as an optional browser and now I can go to the walkthrough site, choose a walkthrough and translate the whole thing in one go - with one right click.

PHEW !!!! dance

Thank you all very much for your MUCH valued help thumbsup

Success, Mad!

I use the S3 Translator as a Firefox add-on. It does a very good job of translating the entire page.

I don't actually mind having Chrome as an option, Draclvr.
[Although I won't use it as my default browser.]
So I think I'll just stick with what I've got now, after all the messing about duh

I hate having to mess with even the most basic techie stuff, as you know, Draclvr, and as the Chrome setup let me translate a whole walk through with just one click .... well that did it as far as I was concerned thumbsup
Happy Bunnies all round rotfl

But I'm very grateful to all who take the time to try and help me. Yes Sir !! grin

Mad, I did the same thing as you, and it's working like a "charm". I agree that "simple" is better (and easier). LOL HAPPY GAMING!
