Good to know, Mad! I see this game came out in 2013 and I don't think I ever tried the demo when it was released. Will do so.

The Gatsby game that I do have in my Purchase History is this one. It is pretty much a straight hidden object game, but at the time I remember playing it twice as it was nicely done.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the game. smile

I remembered Marian mentioning the game but then when I saw the two of them, I wasn't sure which one she mentioned, so, I bought them both back in December. Haven't played either yet though.

Have to change my comments as after getting quite a good way into the game, it became unstable and was constantly crashing to desktop shocked

So I contacted Big Fish - who replied immediately and gave me a code for a replacement game of my choice happydance

How good is that for customer service ???? dance

Hm. Not good to hear about the game. Nice that you received a replacement code right away. Are you going for the other Great Gatsby game by any chance?

Well now I wish perhaps I had gone for the other Gatsby game because this newest Haunted Hotel game is really, really dreadful - in my opinion, anyway.

It is nothing like the others in the series and very annoyingly, is absolutely inundated with collectables etc. So boxes relating to them are continually appearing on screen.

I am very disappointed rolleyes

EDIT :

Now I'm playing Legacy Tales : Mercy of the Gallows and IT is great !! Exactly the type of Casual I like hamster

Sorry to hear that about the Haunted Hotel game. I still haven't played any of those.

Glad you're enjoying Legacy Tales. I hope it stays that way through the game!!!

Glad you're liking Legacy Tales, Mad. One of our other forum members really liked the new Haunted Hotel game, so it just goes to show that not everyone is going to like the same game. smile

Hi oldbroad and Marian smile

Yes, the Legacy Tales game is very much my cup of tea so I'm really enjoying it thumbsup

And, of course, I totally agree that everyone will not like everything laugh

However, I was really astonished that this latest Haunted Hotel was so different to all the others in the series - and I've played many of them !! duh

I finished The Great Gatsby: Secret Treasure game yesterday and liked it quite a bit. I played it in Windows 10 and it was a bit glitchy at times but I managed to make it through the game. I had one crash to desktop, HO's that were behind something (kind of an extension of the place where the hint button is, not behind another item) where I couldn't see them that I finally figured out I could just click around and get the item at some point, and a missing cursor in one scene that had me opening the task manager to close the game.

One other thing I found was that moving around too fast caused some problems and I read in the BF Forum something about not doing some things at the right time or right order (not exactly sure) caused some problems. I think it was, if the game clued you to go somewhere but you tried to go somewhere else, you might have a crash or something.

I've got that Legacy Tales game Mad mentioned in this thread that she said "is great" downloaded. Maybe that will be next. Not sure yet.

I will probably pick up The Great Gatsby: Secret Treasure with a coupon code. I had forgotten about this thread, so I'm glad you brought it back, oldbroad.

I have been on a HOPA roll this past week (after having finished a couple of match-3 games) and have played and finished the following:

Edge of Reality: Mark of Fate CE
Shadowplay: Harrowstead Mystery CE
Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's Ligeia CE
Fatal Evidence: The Missing CE
Haunted Hotel: Beyond the Page CE

And now I am playing Twilight Phenomena: Strange Menagerie CE.

And interesting that Big Fish is having a 60% off sale on games from 2012. There are a lot of good ones on their sale list.

I have 4 of those games Marian and the other 2 on my "to buy someday list". I haven't played any of them yet.

If you do get The Great Gatsby, I hope you will be able to play it. I added another paragraph to my other post also.

I saw that sale at Big Fish and thought it was interesting also. I didn't look to see if I have all the games or not but for non-members the discount is only 45% off.

Thanks for the extra info. It sounds like the game may have a hard time if you don't follow the progression that the programmers expected. I'll keep that in mind.

I'm having a great time with Twilight Phenomena: Strange Menagerie. It's challenging and fun, particularly if you try not to make use of the hint and skip button.

I can't remember if I've already played Twilight Phenomena: Strange Menagerie (which I do have) but will probably play it (or re-play it) soon.

However today, I started the other from the series - The Incredible Show - and am hoping to enjoy it as much as I did The Lodgers of House 13 dance

Wow! I just looked in my Purchase History and I have The Incredible Show - thanks for mentioning this. I have not played it yet, so will give it a look when I am done with Strange Menagerie. I didn't even remember it existed. blush

Exactly why an alphabetical listing of ALL owned games is needed! wink
