I think this would be one to pick up with a coupon or as a twofer.

Our hero in the game, Chris Andersen, reminded me in looks of a young Omar Sharif only darker and hailing from a more dangerous corner of the male archetype cave than, for example, a Galahad or Gawain. In terms of personality, I got the impression (by being generous to the game's creators) that Chris thinks of himself as being as nebbishy as the next guy, only fate won't let him alone and a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do to set things right.

Andersen Accounts: Chapter One is flawed by too many wrenches, as in tools not glitches, and not enough characterization, meaning too few hotspots unrelated to the main objective to click on and get both back story and insight into Chris's nature.

If the next chapter ditches the overextended tool tropes and delves into the intriguing wolf v. red riding hood paradigm hinted at in everything from a fabulous silver cryptex to a framed sports' jersey and later a wolf-headed neon sign puzzle, the series could be a good one. A touch of genuis went into those images and into the tightness of the opening scene in front of the bar.

At the end of Chapter One, Chris's world remains under-examined. Chapter Two could fix that.
