It's good to know you're finding the book helpful and that you're trying to cook more at home. But I wouldn't blame fast food per se for the fact that you seemed to have gotten sick from a Wendy's meal. It's all about proper food handling, not the food itself - unless one has particular sensitivities or they used a contaminated ingredient as happened with Chipotle. The recent recall of romaine lettuce has shown that such a problem can arise even with fresh produce from the grocery store. I've eaten food from Wendy's, McD's, Chik-Fil-A, Arby's, etc. for years and have never gotten sick from the food. If you think the Wendy's food made you sick, you should report it to the store and the health department. It could very well be a matter of improper food handling and they need to know about it.
