no i restarted my computer and all the icons were mess up.

If the icons rearrange every time you reboot, you could try fixes that Google finds, like this one (if you have Windows 10)

I'd heard of "Icon Restorer" (which apparently doesn't work reliably on Windows 10)
but not "Desktop Restorer"

I believe family has Windows 8.

WOT has a golden yellow rating on Mad's site. Just saying.

Icon Restorer seems to only be good up through Windows 7.
There are others like DesktopOK that say they work through Windows 10.

It is too bad Microsoft themselves don't supply something like this with Windows. It's hard to be sure any free download sites are safe anymore (though I've heard majorgeeks is still good).

i have that, but i solve it, i right-click on my desktop and went to personalize and went to desktop icons, uncheck allow themes to change desktop icons, and it been working so far.
