Said to be going back to it's RPG roots, a new story set in the Golden Age of ancient Greece.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

They never disappoint with these trailers! This looks amazing! thumbsup

Hi,

narrated gameplay trailer left me with some questions. crazy

"First time ever you will be able to choose between male and female character". What about Assassin's Creed: Syndicate where you could choose between Jacob and Evie Frye?

I find it also strange they called this new game Assassin's Creed Odyssey with pseudonym ACO in trailer. I think it was already reserved by previous game Assassin's Creed: Origins?

Anyway, looking forward to this and hoping the price of Origins would soon fall.

Timo

Regarding the choice between male & female characters, I think the distinction is that the choice is for the entire story, not just parts of it. In Syndicate (which is good!), you were often forced into using a particular twin for particular missions, Odyssey is 100% free choice, though I expect you chose at the beginning and that's it.

I did notice the number of features of Origins that have made it into Odyssey. It does seem a lot like they're using a very similar engine for Odyssey as they did for Origins, in much the same way that the Ezio Auditore games were all (technically) very similar, though with enhancements and tweaks to the controls. Then the "American" stories were all very similar to one another. Looks like we'll probably have two or three "Ancient World" games - I predict Odyssey will be succeeded by a Roman themed game using very similar elements.

I agree and am glad for it. While there were definitely aspects of a few of the past games that didn't turn my crank, I still get excited to see what historical path I'll follow and what challenges await - Such a great franchise. thumbsup
