That doesn't sound like a very nice friend but you probably should just let it go, if you can. I don't like to borrow things, especially books, because I know I may not want to return them either. I never loan anything out with the expectation of getting it back. Once, my co-workers wanted to read this book that I had. I just bought another copy and gave it to them. I don't think that they knew it was a new copy, but no attempt was ever given to return it to me. Possibly, they knew it wasn't my original, but I think it just would not have been returned. If I loan you money, it is yours. If I get it back, great; if not, I didn't expect it. Therefore though, I don't loan too many things out to people!

This lady is no friend and I would no longer have anything to do with her. Maybe tell her that someone who keeps a borrowed book is not someone you can be friends with any longer. And tell her you hope she enjoys YOUR book and you will just have to go out and buy a new one to replace it.
Once again, weeds are my life!

Have you asked her if she's done with it? Or has she said she won't return it? Seems to me it's up to the bridge club owner to see that it's returned to you. Have you mentioned it to that person?

I understand what you mean family and she sounds like a person I wouldn't want to be around. What a nasty lady! Because you left something behind doesn't mean it doesn't belong to you anymore!

sorry to hear you have that type of friend family or should I say X friend, I hope she grows a conscience and eventually returns it, if not, like they say in Hawaii Five O, "Book-em-Danny"
